Astana Swaha Villa

We were supposed to climb Mount Agung and so chose to stay in this area for proximity. It’s a quiet and tranquil place to relax in and i can envisage just lazing around to read a book. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Food are ok. Boss Gusti and staff are friendly and welcoming, always smiling😊. However, there’s no other eatery or restaurant nearby, will need to arrange transportation to go to town centre.

I was looking for a quiet place to stay after coming out of a retreat, and Astana Swaha was the perfect place. Its quiet, remote and right next to nature. I booked the honeymoon suite which had a brick wall interior, and the windows were large and open into the jungle. The morning sun shines into my room, and the sounds of the river below is a constant companion. The pool deck is a wonderful place to hang out, I never got tired sitting outside and soaking in the view. The property faces the east and the terrace gets the warm morning sun. The owners Gusti and Ayu were wonderful hosts who made sure I had everything I needed. I think for some people the remoteness might be a problem but for me, it was perfect. If I wanted to be picky, the bathroom did not have natural ventilation but I just left the door open after use and it’s not a problem. There can also be ants and other small insects but it’s all part of staying very close to nature. The guesthouse is a simple and basic set up, you should bring your own toiletries if you prefer, otherwise I’m sure you can get it from a nearby shop. Bring your own mat if you’d like to do some yoga on the terrace. The wifi can sometimes be unstable but that’s expected in remote places. It’s a magical, quiet, tranquil place that I’ll love to go back again.

Zugegeben, dieser Homestay ist wirklich abgelegen. Man ist entweder gut zu Fuß, kann Rollerfahren oder ist bereit, etwas für einen Fahrer zu bezahlen, denn Grabs sind in Sidemen nicht erlaubt. Nun zur Unterkunft: Die Besitzerin ist unglaublich gastfreundlich, man fühlt sich sofort zwangsadoptiert. Sie achtet sehr auf Sicherheit und geht auf jeden Wunsch ein, den sie irgendwie erfüllen kann. Wir konnten sogar als Veganer gut zurechtkommen. Frühstück war inklusive, ebenso pro Tag pro Person eine Flasche Wasser. Der Pool ist erfrischend, es liegen immer genügend Handtücher im Außenbereich. Ebenso auf dem Zimmer, was auf Bali nicht immer selbstverständlich ist (wir besuchten 6 verschiedene Unterkünfte auf ganz Bali + Nusas). Der selbstgemachte Arak ist echt zu empfehlen. Wir waren drei Tage dort und fühlten uns sehr wohl. Man muss aber vorher daran denken, dass man sich mitten im Nirgendwo befindet, Weckservice durch Tiergeräusche ist also garantiert. Ein Muss: eine Reisfeld-Tour!
