Villa Danu Kintamani

To get to it is already a nightmare as the road is an off-road single track ok for scooters but not cars. The place itself is not bad but the amount of flies everywhere is unbearable (even in inclosed areas) and the stuff ‘s hygiene is shocking. Food is average and expensive. Basically a basic experience at prime prices.

I was really looking forward to our stay at Villa Danu.The pictures online had me thinking we had these beautiful views from our room over the lake,We didnt.Best views were from the restaurant which was full of flies and took forever for the food and drinks to arrive.We had Villa 5 and the room was gorgeous but there was no fridge,no hot water,no TV,no water left in your room and no cleaning done the two days we were there.No fan but it was quite cool so didnt miss it.You are in a very remote area and the hotel does offer to drive you free of charge to the Hot Springs or restaurants(I didnt see any).We ate at the restaurant every meal and the food was OK but you had to order 40 mins before the meal or even drinks arrived and I think they had to zoom out on motorbikes to get beers for my husband and they were not cold.We likened the service to Faulty Towers with Manual but they were sweet. The Villas are in the middle of market gardens that use chicken manure so the flies are worse than in Australia in summer.Really put us off.We did a boat tour from the hotel to the other side of the lake which cost us $100AUD for an hour and a half only because there was only two of us and no one to share the expense.Well worth the money.The views of the lake have been blocked by new Villas that look like petrol tanks and there is no clear access to the lake to take photos.We were there for 2 nights but would advise people just to do a day trip and do the walk up Mt Batur in the morning.We would not go back

We hebben deze accommodatie voor twee nachten geboekt. Dit om de zonsopgang te zien en om in de omgeving te wandelen. Voor de zonsopgang is het makkelijk. Echter je kan hier niet wandelen waar we wel vanuit gingen. Tevens zijn hier geen restaurants in de nabijheid dan in het hotel zelf. Daarnaast bulkt het hier van de vliegen in de regentijd. Locale toeristen komen hier ook. Die nemen hun eigen etenswaar en kooktoestellen mee en zetten dit in het restaurant. Voor de anderen is hier dan geen plaats, dan om alleen voor in je kamer eten te bestellen. Daarnaast nemen deze locale toeristen de geluidsnormen niet in acht zodat je hiervan “ lang kan mee genieten”. Het management doet hier niets aan.

Super séjour avec un personnel ultra dispo et sympathique ! Merci Mowgli et Siman. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables avec une superbe vue sur le lac Batur. On a pu assister au lever du soleil sur le mont Batur et Moogli nous a mené aux piscines d eaux chaudes au pied du volcan et à une plantation de café où on a pu déguster le café Luwak. Détente complète ainsi. Nous garderons un souvenir mémorable de ces 2 jours. Un grand merci !
