Ocean Sun Dive Resort

Staying here was probably one of the best decisions I've made in a long time lol. Upon arrival we were greeted by Martin, who really helped us settle after a 3-4 hours drive from airport. My friend and I were probably the only ones there so we had the pool to ourselves. The pool is surrounded by the (only) four bungalows so it doesn't matter which one you are in! Our room was spacious, clean, with occasion visits from the bugs of Indonesia - mostly harmless though. If you are mosquito-magnet like myself, I suggest putting on some repellent before going into the toilet because it is semi-outdoors. The only thing I thought could be better was the shower's water pressure. But being in Indonesia you don't expect top notch shower. Safety Stop is also pretty known in the area for its unbeatable restaurant. The price is not the cheapest around - BUT THE FOOD IS SO GOOOOD. I learnt that Martin is a chef back in Germany so he must had pass on some good tips for the western dishes. We ate elsewhere but no, I will spend slightly more for Safety Stop's food and service. The local crew were some of the best - attentive and friendly. At the end of my trip I actually miss them... at the restaurant there is also a pool table. A plus point in quiet, mellow Tulamben in the evenings. I strongly recommend this place, because I would like to be there again!!

Really nice decor in the rooms, particularly the semi-outdoors bathroom, this was a really nice touch. The rooms were very clean and there is also a small pool. There are only a few rooms so it creates a very chilled out environment. Martin (chef and manager) is a great laugh and will tell you lots of stories about tourists who come to tulamben looking for white sandy beaches. Very close to most dive centres as well as grocery stores and ATM. Also very close to wayans restaurant, which can organise cheaper transport out of tulamben. If I return to tulamben I will definitely stay here again. Only issue was the wifi was not working in the rooms but this was a temporary problem and will be resolved soon!

We were recommended this restaurant from another resort and it looked like any other so we stayed and had the waiter’s recommendation of the Schnitzel. It was so good. Like a warm hug. The staff even held the baby while we ate. Highly recommend. Great for the area

We absolutely loved the time we spent at Ocean Sun. Ric was excellent in communication prior our arrival, he answered all our questions and arranged everything that we needed. The rooms were spacious with lovely bathroom. The staff was always super professional and very kind and accommodating. The food was always absolutely the best. Honestly. The location was right by some of the best diving sites and the dive staff was always super. Each and every one of them were very professional and excellent divers with an eye for finding all kinds of cool things under water. We also did a few advanced courses with Ric (advanced wreck diving and decompression) and we were very happy about how all the dives went. Always felt very safe. We are certain to come again soon.

Great place, excellent rooms and the most friendly staff you can imagine. Stays there for 13 nights and everything was SUPER GREAT. Good and different choices for the free breakfast in the morning. Also great food for lunch and dinner. If we wanted we could have stayed on the resort for the whole time. The room were clean and everything worked. Good pressure on the water also. Very happy with the stay and especially the staff.

We had a lovely time at this resort. The AC worked great! The patio was a nice quiet place to admire the view of Mt Agung and listen and watch the birds. The bed was comfortable and the outdoor shower was nice too. Dining for most of our meals was at the two restaurants that are owed by the same person (Ricardo) as the resort and we enjoyed it all. The dive shop was also at the resort. Kobang was a good dive guide and the USAT wreck/artificial reef was our favorite dive site. The resort is a great place to admire the beautiful gardens, get a good night's sleep, and swim in the infinity pool. It's a great bang for your buck! Communications with Ricardo were answered promptly and he arranged for our transfer to/from the DPS airport as well as an all day driver to see some of the sights on Bali.
