Shearwater Hotel & Spa

This is a wonderful Hotel. We are getting married and had our reception dinner there as well as put family up there for the night. The service, staff, food and facilities were great. Will most certainly recommend this place to anyone.

We held an event in this hotel. From the time we did the initial walk through with Michael and Averl, to the night itself, we could not fault anything. Everything we asked for was there on the night. We hosted almost 90 guests and everyone was so well looked after. The ladies on reception who dealt with our very numerous calls and emails, polite and courteous to us at all times. The young bar staff that were allocated to our event, Chloe and Sebastian, ye were on fire behind the bar while having the craic and banter with the guests. Raluca who was looking after us on the night, so attentive to us, our needs and our schedule, nothing was any trouble for her and of course Rafal who was our meet and greet and as our guests gathered beforehand in the bar. He made us all feel like V.I.Ps. We had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for an events venue.

We had the most amazing time at the Shearwater. The lobby is huge! In fact the whole hotel has so much space. The room was very comfortable and it was nice to have a bathroom that is separate from the room itself. This had a bath & a shower. We had a 1 hour massage in the spa which was very relaxing and well needed! A big thank you to Jean & Grace for their help with this. Two very experienced masseuses with a pleasant and professional manner. The pool, sauna & steam room were were a treat too, clean, warm and not too busy. We dined in the canal bistro & bar - Wow! We were taken aback by how good the food was. We had the chicken wings & black pudding to start, followed by the chicken supreme & feather blade steak for main and shared the brownie for dessert. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sauces included were very tasty. A big thank you to John from the bar for his warmth & brilliant customer service skills. We didn't get the name of our waitress but she was really polite and kept apologising for the delay. But we were amazed on how quick everything was! The only downside was the late night loud music coming from a valentine's ball event but we were so tired from all the relaxation & food that it didn't affect us too much. Overall, we had a remarkable time and would love to visit again. Thank you to all the shearwater staff and we hope to see you soon in the future!

Lovely spacious hotel. Rooms good but too warm at night. Breakfast good but disappointed when I asked for fresh milk, as milk in my tea was off, the girl I asked never came back. She seemed to be the manageress. Will visit this hotel again however.
