I stayed at Hattvika Lodge while filming and running in the Lofoten Islands, and it exceeded every expectation. The cabins are beautifully designed—cozy, modern, and seamlessly integrated into the rugged landscape. Waking up steps from the sea and being able to run straight from the lodge to the mountains was an absolute dream. The staff are incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and helpful, offering great local recommendations and making us feel right at home. Whether you’re here to hike, fish, ski, or just soak in the raw beauty of the region, Hattvika makes the perfect base. Also worth noting: the on-site sauna with mountain views is a post-adventure game changer. We’ll absolutely be back.

My fiancé and I are frequent travelers, and we've never come across such amazing hospitality. Everyone at Hattvika Lodge was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Some highlights for us were seeing the northern lights from our room, going arctic sea kayaking, relaxing in the sauna and then cold plunging into the harbor (yes it's hard, but you must do it! You will be super energetic for the rest of the day) and indulging in the 3 course meal at their restaurant Fangst. It was so delicious, especially with the wine pairing. We highly recommend staying here! 10/10

It was better than OK. But having stayed there, even a pretty good experience IRL couldn't live up to the hyped up expectations, which had been built up by their awesome website. We stayed in one of the newer cabins. Everything in the cabin was modern and clean and uncluttered -- the cabin delivers the whole Scandinavian aesthetic, so yes it felt special. If you go in the summer, it was hot in the cabin each afternoon with the sun, if that bothers you. Breakfast is funky in that it comes with a lot of earnest instruction and interruptions. It was well-intentioned but we both felt like children being told what to try. We are super adventurous, but man, we just wanted to eat breakfast -- so we could get out the door to our hike, kayak, etc. So for us, it wasn't the time to try all these different types of cod liver oil, cheeses, juices, etc. If you don't mind that or it actually sounds appealing, then we recommend breakfast. The view where they serve breakfast was a pleasure to take in. Finally, we really appreciate their commitment to the environment and local resources -- as well as how their operations including recycling are so well kept and caringly managed. Thank you Hattvika for caring so much in everything you do!

This is a gorgeous lodge, truly exceptional setting and attention to detail in the decor evident everywhere. Quiet elegance but no stuffiness and works so beautifully with the gorgeous surroundings. The restaurant is truly superb as well - not always a given in Norway. The staff of the lodge and the restaurant could not be more helpful and friendly. It is very close to Leknes airport. It was annoying to have a full kitchen but no coffee supplies, no salt. there is a French press machine but no milk or creamer or coffee pods as we’ve had everywhere else we’ve been. Especially the coffee situation. We assume they want to encourage you to buy their breakfast (excellent but not included in the overnight rate). It just felt ungenerous in an otherwise very generous and hospitable place.

Please be aware that the hotel is located in an industrial site, overlooking a shabby parking lot and cod oil cisterns. This is not what you expect based on the photos and the price you pay. The cottages itself are nice and airy, nothing to complain there. Strongly recommend to avoid the 3-course set dinner. It was unseasoned, totally tasteless, no care had been given to either the vegetables or the fish. The desert was quite nice but for close to EUR 100 per meal (without drinks), it is absolutely not worth the money.

I am rating Havitta Lodge “average” only because I want others to read it. First, their website does NOT accurately reflect the view. See three attached pictures. In fact, this lodge is located just behind a large fish factory in an industrial area on a small polluted harbor. There is no housekeeping in spite of being charged for it. There are no blackout curtains so be sure to bring an eye mask. The lodge charges for everything, breakfast $25.00 pp each day, sauna $200.00 for 2 hours, and forget about trying to get guidance about hikes as they are only interested in booking you $$ with their guide Roland. Do not eat at their restaurant “Fangst” it is a set three course menu and you get to choose between 2 entrees. I noticed another table was served soup and I asked for the soup and they said “no” you do not get soup. The waiter explained that the soup is offered only if you eat at their restaurant on another night. Wow. I asked for a glass of white wine and when they poured me a taste I asked if they had another white by the glass and they said “no” this is what we our offering. We paid a scalping of $200.00, without alcohol, for an unmemorable terrible tasting. We did not book a second dinner to try the soup. There are a lot of REAL beautiful settings to stay with dinner choices- Havitta Lodge is getting by with false advertising. See my “real” photos and yes, that is a a diesel truck with clothes hanging under the hood.

Wow - this was one of the best hotels we've stayed in for a long time. We were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this place. It's located a little off the beaten path which is great, but it's not too far from Leknes and various hiking trails in the area. It was a great base for us for a couple of days. We booked a Hillside Cabin and were lucky to be given #8 which afforded a great view of the mountains, and a slice of the harbour. It was so new and modern, and really spacious inside for two people. Beautiful bathroom with heated floors. A skylight provides extra light and presumably offers amazing views from bed of northern lights in the winter. Luckily, the skylight has an electric blind to block the midnight sun. There's also a little daybed by the window, along with a small balcony. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We had dinner at Fangst and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was also the best we had out of 4 properties in Lofoten - an excellent spread and great coffee. Staff were outstanding - so friendly and welcoming. Plenty of parking and a corner store down the road should you need it. Should I be in the area again I will be back!

The most comforting and charming hotel! We stayed in their converted fisherman’s cabins along the harbour and they were so beautiful. It’s very peaceful and the bed is so comfortable - you will have the best sleep of your life. It’s perfectly centrally located on the island. Close to the Leknes hotel airport. They have so many amazing activities at the hotel like kayaking, or their amaaazing sauna. But it’s also really close to other activities that you can drive to- like the Reinebringen hike, Haukland beach, Ballstad Fishing Tours and Unstad Arctic Surf. The restaurant is also AMAZING!!! Some of the best food we had on the island We absolutely loved it here and will definitely come back!!
