White Horse Inn

Went mid afternoon for Sunday lunch. Choice of the Sunday roast menu or the normal one. We opted for the Sunday menu. Excellent choice on both. Both our starters were tasty, came quickly and our waitress was very friendly. Pate was lovely, nice mixed salad on the side. My husband had the lentil and bacon soup which was served with a warm roll. Next we both had the roast beef rib with all the trimmings, delicious and the gravy was the best I’ve tasted for a long time. Husband managed the sticky toffee pudding which he said was really good. Great value at £19.99 for 2 courses or £24.99 for 3. Would highly recommend, was busy but no lengthy wait and atmosphere was good.

started to stay here again on business trips to Aberdeen, very comfortable clean rooms, huge TV On wall ( not the mini portable TVs some rooms provide, only 20 mins to Aberdeen City centre at 8am in morning, lovely walks to beach ( around 1 mile) breakfast and dinner of a very good quality and price of room and food excellent value for this quality in Aberdeen area, PS staff go beyond to make sure customers are happy.

I was a little apprehensive before staying as I usually book chain hotels as they do exactly what they say on the tin, but I needed somewhere close by and last minute. The pictures looked fine online but you never know until you’re there. From the front, the grill restaurant looks modern but the accommodation was in the car park to the rear and was slightly dated on the outside. Check in was easy and the man in reception (presumably the owner) was very friendly and helpful, carrying my case up to my room. He did this for other guests too. The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfy. You can tell they have really tried to make this place as good as it can be. My only complaint would be low pressure in the shower but I managed and I have long, thick hair. I ate dinner in the restaurant and again I wasn’t expecting much, due to previous experience of mass produced food being disguised as ‘homemade’ food. But it genuinely was, and it was very tasty and extremely reasonable in price.
