Royale Chulan Cherating Villa

Pictures of the villa from the web looked picture perfect, moreover with the high rating, but it was far from reality. When priced over RM500 per night for the cheapest room , 1 would expect a certain level of standard. Upon check in, I didn't feel welcomed at the reception, not even a hi lol. The security and the buggy guy were more welcoming and sincere. When entering the room, I was shocked to see the flooring in utter dismay, it was scratched left right center, nobody felt the need to polish it? AC was visibly dirty, had a slight tinge of musky smell, when was the last servicing done? Ceiling was stained, wall paper was peeling/ bubbling and sofa had a ironing burnt mark LOL. The toilet still had sand at the corners of the floor! Where the heck is the QC and maintenance? TV channels had nothing to watch either. If u look closely at the pictures I've taken, I also noticed the edges of the tiling... Just shows the poor QC and mindset the management or employees have there. Kids pool was closed throughout our stay, bummer. Apparently it was spoiled and in need of repairs. Not sure how long it's been down. Basically there's nothing much for families with kids to do here other than the beach. Beach access wise, the cement stairs to the Beach split into 2... Management waiting for accidents to happen to guests before action is taken? Food wise was ok but not extensive enough. Nothing great either. Overall this wasn't a good experience, in fact it's utterly disappointing. For the price there are definitely better resorts along the cherating kuantan coast. As a shareholder of Boustead, this is very concerning. I would not recommend to family and friends.

I stay for 3 days 2 night and while the experience had its highlights, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The setting is absolutely stunning, with a breathtaking view that made for a serene and picturesque afternoon. It’s the perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of Cherating. However, the food was somewhat underwhelming. The variety was decent, but the flavors and quality didn’t quite match the venue’s high standards. While it wasn’t bad, it didn’t stand out as exceptional either Overall, the ambiance and view made it worth the visit, but I do hope they elevate the food offerings to match the incredible location.

Awesome trip for my family. Enjoyed it. Will repeat again one fine day 😊
