DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a generally positive experience. The room was clean, and the Wi-Fi worked well, which was essential for my stay. I want to give a special shout-out to the manager, Sam, who was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. He went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and was always enthusiastic and professional. Sam speaks fluent English, making communication seamless. He and his team frequently checked in with us to ensure everything was going well, which was much appreciated. On the downside, the hotel’s location is a bit far from most shopping spots and the BTS, with about a 30-minute walk to the Erawan Shrine. This can make getting around a bit inconvenient, especially since there are no convenience stores nearby. Getting a Grab can also be challenging due to the location. Additionally, the complimentary water provided had a strange taste, which was a bit off-putting. The pillows in the room were initially too soft for my liking, but after I mentioned this to the team, they provided a slightly firmer pillow the next day, which significantly improved my sleep. The hotel offers a lot of choices for breakfast, which was a nice touch. However, their transportation service to the airport is quite overpriced—almost five times the cost of ordering a Grab ourselves. This might be something to keep in mind if you’re considering using their service. One area that could use some improvement is the professionalism of some of the ground staff, as I noticed that they were not as polished as Sam and his team. Overall, it was a good stay, especially thanks to the efforts of Sam and his team.

We enjoyed our stay at DoubleTree. I’ll recommend this to anyone looking to go to Bangkok. It’s well located and not in a noisy area of the city. We were warmly welcomed with a freshly backed biscuit when checking in. The front desk staff helped us a few times with different things during our stay. The staff’s service was top notch. The room was clean and all emenities in place. The gym and swimming pool was used a few times and I would also recommend you to make use of it. I was happily surprised to see how many taxi and tuk-tuk drivers knew this hotel which made it easy to get back from anywhere, beside the fact that it is very close to the subway station. We opted to not include breakfast in our stay as there are many options to choose from just around the corner of the hotel and much better priced. One unfortunate thing that happened on out last night was our smoke detector’s light kept flickering the whole time which was quite irritating but we just covered ourselves with the blanket as we had to wake up early to catch a flight and didn’t want to go through all the trouble of moving rooms.

The location of hotel is good and all facilities are new , but the water pipe flow is a bit not flown. The breakfast is excellent and worth to stay here

Hotel that does its job. Simple, clean, functional. Looks suited for short trips or business travelling folks. Breakfast was good enough.

10 minutes walk from nearest Skytrain station and shopping malls. Good housekeeping and comfortable bed with decent sound insulation. Wi-Fi week and unstable some of the time. Was very grateful for an early check-in after my overnight flight. Lobby kiosk sells snacks, which is very convenient. Decent pool for lap swimming though somewhat on the small side. Air conditioning in gymnasium was poor and needs fixing. For the price paid, this was a good value proposition.
