Glenskirlie Castle Hotel

First impressions were good with an efficient but very friendly check in. The lounge area & spiral staircase showed a lot of thought had been put into the decor. Our bedroom certainly did not disappoint , loved the artwork, shutters on the windows & latch on the toilet door to name just a few . Our evening meal was very good but we had to leave early so missed out on breakfast. All credit has to go to Lynne who worked very hard but was smiling, cheerful & chatty & made us feel very welcome. If I had to make a criticism it would be that we were unable to connect to the WiFi, although we did get a decent 4G signal.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. It's quirky and stylish. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Ours also had a bathroom with bath and separate shower. Everything is just perfect. Staff are friendly and ready to help with anything. You need to go and experience how good it is.

My friend and I went for lunch, we picked the festive menu. The restaurant is now to the left of the hotel entrance, the surroundings are beautiful just like the interior. The Christmas decor was beautiful and welcoming. We were immediately greeted by Erin, our waitress, she couldn’t be more attentive! The menu was varied for a festive menu. The food was delicious and plentiful! We both had the Stilton and Broccoli croquettes for starters, the traditional turkey with all the trimmings for mains and cheesecake for dessert, all the courses were delicious even the cranberry sauce was made with fresh cranberries. Also, the potions are very generous. What a delightful lunch we had! 😊

Booked an overnight via my hotel breaks. It included dinner and breakfast. The room was nice, big four poster bed. The dinner was nice, nothing amazing. I ordered a cocktail and it was vile, if i could have drank it i would. Tried to be jokey with the waiter who made it but he wasn’t impressed that i didn’t like it. They did remove it from the bill but no apologies. He was very very young. He looked offended. Dinner was quite slow i have to say and i think there was only around 4/5 tables. It was very quiet. Not much of an atmosphere. After dinner we went back to our room for some drinks. We did go to the bar but there was no one there. No music and not very welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was alright, again e amazing. We’ve been to much nicer hotels wity my hotel breaks and had a much better experience, service and food too. Don’t get me wrong girls on reception were nice but i feel the bar and waitress service could have been better. It would have been nice if they went out their way to have a chat. Would i go back ? Probably not. It was an ok stay and it was fine. But it was nothing special.

Beautiful room on the first floor, had really high hopes. We had DB&B. The dinner was lovely no complaints at all. The waitress was attentive and made us feel welcomed. Unfortunately as we went to settle down in our room for the night we were subjected to a vibrating floor and a constant beat from the wedding that was happening just below us, along with the smokers having a chat badically outside our window. When we asked at reception how long we would have to endure the noise we were advised midnight. Which was correct and give the wedding party their due there was no further noise. However I do not appreciate going away for a relaxing night to not be able to sleep until after midnight. Although bed was comfy, felt cheated out on a good sleep. Surely guests that are not at the wedding should be on the 2nd floor further away from the party. Not right above it, reception did say probably better to check there was no wedding on when we booked, not to sure this was helpful. Finally the breakfast was also somewhat disappointing in that the rasher of bacon that was served up I could leather my shoe with. Could not get the knife to cut through it, ended up leaving it. At no time did anyone check the breakfast was okay or if we enjoyed our stay. Please make sure if staying for a relaxing break to check if there is a wedding on and if you are on the first floor before confirming your booking.
