Hotel Tanne

Traditional Bulgarian hotel, great location - restaurants, supermarket, gondola. Nice breakfast&dinner. Room with balcony, warm and with comfortable beds. We loved the spa facilities after skiing all day. I would definitely recommend.

We (three adults) stayed in a two-storey mezzanine room and it was the perfect accommodation for our ski holiday. There was plenty of space both upstairs and downstairs with a sofa that pulled into a sofa bed, bathroom, a separate toilet and wardrobes downstairs and upstairs too. We had a balcony with amazing views of the mountains. The decor of the room and whole hotel is lovely, very cozy and feels very ski-esk. Breakfast was included too which includes cold and hot food. The selection was quite random, but we all enjoyed it every morning. The spa / pool area is lovely and clean. You could spend a good few hours relaxing in there. The location is perfect. The hotel is just located off the main street with bars and restaurants. 5 minute walk to the gondola too. The only cons really were that we weren’t sure which room we actually booked as this wasn’t very clear when booking. I managed to get in touch with the hotel and they confirmed this for us. Also there’s no kettle in the room, we bought our own travel one. 100% recommend for a ski holiday.

This place is great, everything you could possibly need! Traditional, comfortable, close to everything. The Spa, pool area etc is so much better than other places I’ve stayed. The breakfast is fantastic- they have been accommodating for Vegans, nothing has been too much trouble. They got us soya milk, vegan cheez, facon! The staff are lovely. I don’t think I’ll stay anywhere else now. Thank you for making our holiday so good!

Just about to leave this hotel after a weeks stay over Christmas booked thru TUI/Krystal. The hotel has been brilliant for me, my 17 yr old Daughter and 11 yr old Son. We soon found the Games Room and the pool. The sauna is ace too. Facilities around the pool are great and kept very clean! The hotel food, particularly the breakfast was a little cold sometimes but it’s cooked then put under the warmer but most mornings we ate out and in the evenings too. The staff do what they can and were really friendly; even the old guy watering the plants was saying hello in English! :0) My Father arrived unexpectedly from Veliko Tărnovo one evening and the managed to squeeze him in the hotel so that we’d be closer as a family. Would stay here again anytime and couldn’t really moan about the place much TBH! :0)

We stayed at the Tanne Hotel during our 9 day ski vacation. All in all we took up 5 rooms, which were neat and welcoming, with a feeling of cleanliness overall. I was there with my wife and 4 year old and it was great for us. The ski lift was within walking distance (which didn't matter much since it couldn't get you anywhere, due to the number of people, but that's another story for another time) and there was ample parking for all guests. The real highlights of the place were the Spa area, which included a pool, a jacuzzi, several saunas, massage, showers and lounge chairs, and the restaurant. In fact, the restaurant deserves its own paragraph. Large and welcoming, the staff was professional and always ready to pick up on us needing them. While English wasn't a string point of the waiters, they spoke more than enough to never get our orders wrong and they were super friendly and welcoming. And the food - oh my god the food. If you're not from the Balkans, you owe it to yourself to try the soups here, as well as the lamb and the sausage, but really, everything on the menu was brilliant. I give this place a solid 10. Rooms ok. Cleaning service ok. Breakfast ok. That’s where it ends. Nobody ever on reception and if they are there is no English. Dinner - wouldn’t feed my dog that. Spa lovely if you go after 4pm as heating only turned on at 7am. Sometimes open fire but they don’t serve hot drinks. Nobody spoke my language. Overall it was a “put up” not enjoy. Please, avoid. Obviously financial difficulties - clear to see.
