Shaw Inn

From the front desk staff of the hotel was very rude. Food is too expensive and horrible. Buffet breakfast was same for the 2 days ( served uncooked Dosa ) There was hair of some staff which they cooked in parantha and served. Power cut for 3-4 hrs They have some specific timmings for the room heater and if u r feeling cold and u have fever even then they will not start the heater. Very Bad Hospitality ( if u misplace ur room keys they won’t give u a new one , hotel staff said first find the misplaced key ) Staff is very uncooperative. Linens were very dirty and they are giving us used bed sheets. I will not advise this hotel if u are coming with family.

Visiting Kashmir without experiencing Gulmarg would be incomplete; it's truly a gem. Initially concerned about the cold nights, we chose to stay at Shaw Inn near the Cable Car, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. The property boasts breathtaking views from every window, resembling a cozy wooden boutique hotel that managed to dispel all worries about the cold. Their controlled heaters made it feel like a home away from home. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted at the Reception they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, upgraded our room also .The food exceeded our expectations, Our stay at Shaw Inn was undoubtedly the highlight of our Kashmir trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gulmarg.

The family room was pretty spacious and well furnished . The bathroom is small, and the strange smell keeps on coming from it after the first use itself. The restaurant is very good. The views from the room are average with one side close to another hotel building part wrapped in tarpauline.. givong it a shabby look. Even otherwise the views are not very great. The advance booking rate was almost 30 per cent or more than the current booking rate. So dont book in advance . IN SHORT A DECENT STAY BUT NOTTHE VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL. TOO EXPENSIVE GIVEN ITS LOCATION, DESIGN AND FACILITIES

Very good ambience. We are here for my wife’s birthday. The hotel staff have made Beautiful arrangements. Food was tasty and hospitality especially by Mr. Elys was excellent. Highly recommendable for people who would like to stay in Gulmarg.

First of all the staff here is very polite and nice. Service is fast and prompt. But other than this i dont find anything nice. This hotel is really very very small , for the price that they charge the room feel very dingy. Very very small rooms . I would say matchbox size rooms. Bedsheets are extremely dirty. Stains all over the bedsheets. The rooms are so small that if you have 3 bags you wont find a place to keep them. Food is pathetic. Absolutely tasteless. Lobby and reception area is really very very noisy. I can hear people screaming and shouting outside my room. There is no soundproofing at all in rooms. I dont know why they charge so much because i dont see anything for the price i paid. I came here on my 1st anniversary and it turned out to be a disaster. Overall disappointed!! Thumbs down👎

The toilet in the room was blocked. After complaining, they changed the room. But found out that this was blocked too. Had to change room for the third time at night to a smaller room. The bedsheets were stained and dirty. The staff were apologetic about the whole experience but this was really unexpected for a 4 star rated property. The hotel has nice grounds in the front to sit and relax in the evening. A campfire would have been perfect though. There is a well equipped gaming room for kids to play. The hotel looks rustic with wooden interiors and is probably one of the better properties in Gulmarg The rates charged per room are very high since there are not many vacant properties around. Food is delicious and breakfast spread is great too. Only the family room has a balcony.
