Hotel Sportsman

We have enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stsy at the Hotel Sportsman. It is situated in a beautiful and quiet part of the lake just along the path where you can walk to Bardolino or Garda.(approx 20/25 mins walk). We took advantage of the bike hire most days which was fabulous. We also enjoyed the use of the paddle board and kayak although I felt there should have been more available as there was only one of each which isn't really suitable in high season with lots of families wanting to use them. Also it meant I couldn't go out with my son on the lake. The staff were all amazing, happy to help with bus tickets, tips on travel etc. They were always pleasant and courteous. The breakfast was extensive with a wide range of food and drink available. We didn't use the restaurant though. We loved that the hotel was directly on the bus route which was extremely useful. Also the local beach bars were handy for lunch and takeaway pizzas! The only downside was the lack of a balcony or outdoor space and only a few rooms seem to have them. But won't be our last visit to lake garda or hotel sportsman. A thoroughly enjoyable, calming and peaceful stay.

I wanted an affordable hotel , not too boring or quiet , I had alot of fun , was able to walk around in booty shorts no complaints, nice staff, affordable , nice private rooms, I went into 3 different black mens rooms and no one got into my business, nice hotel

Excellent hotel right on lakefront. Large rooms (we had balconies and lakeview). Position of hotel is awesome as its away from the road and very quiet. 20 min walk to garda town via lakeside. Own private beach with plenty of chairs! Breakfast is great! Staff are very friendly! All in all the hotel is perfect. We just didnt like the surroundings as it was too crowded and touristy. Its the busiest part of lake garda we have visited (4th year at the lake).

The Sportsman Hotel is a nice, well-kept property in a great location between the towns of Bardolino and Garda. The rooms were sufficient and we had a partial view of the lake which was lovely. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast buffet offered a lot of options including fresh pancakes made by request! Our group (4 adults and 2 kids) enjoyed the private beach and convenience of on-site bar and restaurant. We also loved the free kayak rental provided by the hotel--it was a fun way to explore the lake. It may have just been the time of year we visited, but we only saw one other family with two children during our stay. I'd say that most guests were of retirement age, which sometimes made us self-conscious as our kids drew lots of stares/looks even though they were well-behaved in all of the public settings. We felt out of place letting the kids play in the pool while other guests mostly used the pool for lap swimming, so we mostly spent time at the lake beach. My kids even noticed and commented that they were the only kids there! Again, this may change as it gets later into summer and more families are on holiday. We did not try the hotel restaurant for dinner as it seemed too quiet for our family, but there are other restaurants within walking distance, including a beach bar just next to the hotel. If you are going during busy season and want to take the sunset cruise on the sailboat (that's including with your stay at the hotel), book early as it was already full by the time we arrived.

L’Hotel Sportsman è stata una sorpresa piacevole. Il ristorante è una vera perla sul lago di Garda. L’ambiente è intimo e curato, si affaccia sull’acqua che rende ogni pasto un momento speciale. Il personale è sempre sorridente, puntuale e disponibile, anche nei momenti di maggiore affluenza. Particolarmente apprezzati i piatti a base di pesce di lago, proposti con gusto. Anche chi segue diete particolari o ha intolleranze viene seguito con attenzione e professionalità (sono intollerante al glutine). Dolci fatti in casa ed una colazione ricca. Un ristorante che merita davvero le 5 stelle per qualità, servizio e atmosfera. Grazie a Manuel per la sua dolcezza e a Mina per la sua professionalità!

Tolles Hotel in perfekter Lage mit unschlagbarem Frühstücksbuffet! Saubere, große Zimmer - TV - Kühlschrank - 'Kaffee/Tee-Bar' für die kleine Auszeit auf dem Zimmer - freundliches Personal - toller Strandzugang - saubere Poolanlage - ein wirklich gelungenes Konzept!
