OYO Imperial Hotel

Had trouble finding the place as scaffolding everywhere and looked closed down..needs better signage Does have car park tbf Carpet in main landing dirty and disgusting Tbf one outside room better Room itself decent and clean The biggest downside room was boiling..we had windows open no heating on etc but struggled to sleep Was a fan..but not enough ( at breakfast others said same) Breakfast room bit cramped but has most stuff, decent choice of food ( bacon roll lovely )

Really good hotel undergoing refurbishment but excellent quality safe parking and really friendly staff and excellent rooms fantastic breakfast on great position in center of town excellent facility’s I would recommend this hotel as a base

We stayed in this hotel 11 years ago and it was lovely, to come back and see the state of it now was a shock! Yes I understand there refurbishing but the bar down stairs no longer exists everything Is blocked off, the carpets have been destroyed, the room was fairly clean but the beds where so uncomfortable. We had to ask for fresh towels as we had stayed 2 nights and wasn’t provided any, house keeping doesn’t work of a weekend 🤦‍♀️. Breakfast was included no gluten free options. No plug sockets near the beds, 2 out of the 3 in the room where in the middle of a wall with nothing about to sit items on to charge ect. Was advised by people in the area migrants had been house there, what a shame to see the state it had been left in. Don’t think we would ever book again unfortunately. Staff were welcoming and polite only good thing really.

The good Refurbished rooms are immaculately clean Staff are delightful Hairdryer in the room is really good Plenty of decent sized towels available in the room The OK Breakfast was fine with a good selection The bad Thick, winter weight, synthetic duvet on the bed in July No ventilation in the room and it was super hot Window couldn’t be opened because of noise from outside he seagulls and nesting pigeons outside En suite was badly refurbished. Gap between the shower and wash hand basin that couldn’t be cleaned. New shower head support in the shower cubicle looked good but was so cheap and flimsy that it was already broken Double bed was positioned up against a wall - ok for single occupancy but not for double occupancy Communal areas are still to be refurbed. The carpets are so filthy they could turn your stomach No signage outside and entire facade obscured by scaffolding No restaurant and guests are signposted to the sister restaurant who refused my request for a single occupancy table (even though there were plenty of tables available) Even for business bookings, they insist on taking a card imprint Cheap teabags at breakfast. Only instant coffee available

It's great to hear that it's back open to the public. Already booked next week. Been going for 2 years. Be good to get back to my second family. Staff are brilliant. Rooms good. Good breakie in the morning.

Showing its age in places and no guest lift despite advertising one so had to carry the buggy up stairs. Upside is the staff were helpful and supportive with this and very welcoming. Clean and tidy but could do with decor refresh and refurbishment in places
