Arena Hotel by the Beach

The stuff was very unpleasant. The hotel inside is very old and derty. The hotel pool for most days of our staying was close because they are missing staff!! Read the reviews on other sites and don't repeat our mistake.

Went with 2 friends and payed for the double couch bed. The room was dirty (blood stains on the couch, scratches on the bed,etc.). Staff was unpleasant even rude at times. Apparently they don't give any sets of spare linen and the front desk closes at 11 so me and my friend had to sleep without any pillows or blankets. Absolutely terrible experience if you want something on the beach there are plenty of better places in the area than this dump.

We arrived a day late due to cancelled flight. I informed hotel immediately of the situation and they confirmed our room would be held. When we arrived the room they gave us was not what we ordered. The reception staff were so rude and wouldn’t admit they got it wrong. I booked 2 single beds and a sofa bed in lounge. They gave us a room with double bed and a sofa in lounge. This was unsuitable as my 47 year old son and 11 year old grandson needed separate beds due to a health problem. Receptionist suggested I sleep with my son!! I am 73! After a long argument they brought a single stained mattress for my son to lie on and as the room was not suitable for this he ended up sleeping the rest of holiday on balcony! Really nasty people. It ruined our whole holiday of a lifetime. After many emails to them when we arrived home asking for compensation they finally agreed to a 15% refund…….. 6 weeks later this hasn’t happened and now won’t return communication.

The pool was nice. But it closed at 6:00 pm - sunset was at 7:40. And it did not open untill 11:00 am which was checkout. We arrived at 2:35 pm. Met a person at the deak who told us that check in was at 3:00 pm - which was true. She told us that our reservation was for two nights. That was incorrect- it was for one night. She barked at us to sit down as check in is at 3:00. At 3:10 we knocked on the door. She said a room is not ready and promptly left as her shift was done. Someone else came and had to start over. A room was not avaliable until 4:00 pm. No compensation was offered or given for the delay. The breakfast was bare. The food choice was quite limited. Someone was making what seem to be omelets - but had no fillings ie cheese, mushrooms, onions etc. so he was making egg rings in iul. Everything else was premade. They did not have regular coffee - just instant and through a machine. The air conditioning in the room did work well. The room was quite dated. There was no service, bellhop, concierge etc.

We had bugs in our room. Desk service was rude. Absolutely Terrible. STAY AWAY!!!
