The inside of the pub & rooms are really nicely modelled, as you would find in a boutique hotel, but for a lot less £’s! The bedroom was comfy, warm & cosy. We enjoyed the digital radio & coffee machine. Great shower as well. Plus the breakfast was also delicious. We really enjoyed our stay, particularly the pleasant walk into town which takes about 25 minutes with great views.

Really can’t fault this place. We stayed 2 nights, the room was spacious and lovely decorated. I was a little concerned that it would be noisy at night as it’s above a pub and on a main road but it wasn’t I had a great night sleep. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and a great choice. 15 minute walk into town downhill, uphill on the way back but you can get a cheap taxi/uber if you prefer.

The Bear offers a great atmosphere for couples, families and friends. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent, especially the Sunday roast (vegan option is one of the best I’ve had in Bath). It shows loads of different sport, without the vibe of some other sporting pubs, and Ali is always happy to switch the TV to the rugby (even if it is to watch Bristol Bears!). We moved locally in the spring and this is a great local pub!

Food was very good and staff friendly and attentive. The burger was very excellent as were the starters , the decor comfortable and fairly spacious. It was a little noisy as there was football and music playing in competition but as a place to eat we will be back again.

Booked The Bear to celebrate our Mum's 90th birthday. We were a party of 28. Food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even though the space was a bit cramped it didn't stop us enjoying our evening. Would definitely recommend and I will hopefully be back

Stayed for 3 nights as visiting family in the area. Reception was very friendly. First impression of room was good though did notice bathroom was a little scruffy as was hallway. Ate in first night. Food was very good when it did arrive as service was slow. I ordered the chicken kyev which was lovely though was disappointed with the crispy profiteroles. Breakfast first morning again very slow- waited 30 mins from order to delivery though the food was very tasty. The 3rd night I slept poorly as the extractor for the kitchen was left on which disturbed my sleep. Have to say pancakes at breakfast were delicious and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all very nice but overall I thought the price was high.

We were working in Bath and the bear inn was recommended by our air bnb host . It was a busy night with a pub quiz , we were greeted by a lovely lady called Maddie she had only been there 2 weeks and was warm and friendly and very welcoming, we were shown to our table with menus and Maddie came back and took out order . The food was very quick to come to our table and was delicious I had fish and chips with curry sauce, coming from up north and living down south this was a great surprise to see it on the menu and I wasn't disappointed. The only disappointed thing was the profitaroles they were crispy instead of soft but didn't have much chocolate in them , but other than that everything was lovely. And I hope Maddie gets a permanent job she would be a great asset to the team.

Booked table for dinner - easy and effective. Very comfortable dining area, good variety on the menu, excellent food quality (including care about catering for allergies), impeccable and friendly service. Strongly recommend the chicken Kyiv.

Great placement within bath, amazing friendly staff great beers and food! Accommodation was excellent, very modern and tasteful, comfortable beds and great shower! The manager David was incredibly helpful and was a font of local knowledge. Thank you!
