Battery Point Manor

Perhaps I am being harsh, but even a modest motel would provide a toaster, when breakfast isn't provided. But we did have (common) access to crockery and cutlery, though no tea towel to wash/dry. So, with that off my chest, the location is great ... provided you are an able walker. This place is hilly. Battery Point has a lovely ambiance, is quiet (though you could almost say that for all of Tasmania!), and there is a lovely Italian restaurant close at hand. Would we stay here again? Yes, but bring a toaster and tea towel with us.

Stayed for 2 nights and happy with accommodation and location. An easy walk to Salamanca Mkts. Key was left for us and never saw the manager but this wasn’t a problem at all. So much history in the Battery Point area. Loved the homes and gardens. Would stay here again.

Location superb , quiet attractive streets such a fabulous area. Room was clean fridge tea coffee provided in room but also communal facilities ie microwave crockery cutlery fridge freezer. Parking , Wi Fi good . Considering we were in room 7 next to entrance we were not disturbed. Room very spacious limited wardrobe space overall I’d say room is a bit tired with what looks like damp in plaster on walls might be an issue for some with allergies etc but as we were out and about exploring eating and drinking in this brilliant city didn’t bother us. Good communication from host a 15/20 min walk to Salamanca area.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Battery Point Hotel. We have stayed in rooms 1 and 3 both times and absolutely love this place. The location is unbeatable. Walking distance to Salamanca, Jackman & McRoss bakery, restaurants and the Shipwrights Arms hotel just down the road. A short downhill walk to Sandy Bay road to a Coles and Woolworths. Both rooms have lovely views of Sandy Bay. The rooms are a bit dated but they are clean, warm and very comfortable. Being able to stay in the historic location of Battery Point at this price point is unbeatable. And a special shout out to the manager Leanne for the late checkout on our last day.

A beautiful room in a historic manor house, which I thought would be a more unique experience than staying in a big hotel. It was! Beds were so comfortable, room was always warm despite the winter temperatures. I travelled with my 2 daughters and there weren't many options where we each got our own bed, but this had a queen and 2 singles, which is a nice bonus. Owner was lovely, no trouble finding the key for check in, ample parking for the number of rooms. The top floor apartment wasn't booked out when we were there so we were able to go up to the rooftop and look at the view, which was incredible. The location in Battery Point is near to cafes, pubs and restaurants, and a very short drive to nearby Sandy Bay for cheaper takeaway and supermarkets if the restaurants are too pricey for the budget conscious (some are, it's Battery Point). It was only a few blocks to Salamanca Markets as well, easy on the way there, uphill on the way back though (be warned!). I would 100% stay here again if I'm ever back in Hobart.

Parking onsite, so you can walk to the downtown area. Rooms were clean and very spacious. Bathroom was spotless. There is a bar fridge in the room, but a big fridge in a shared area where there is also plates, cutlery etc. if you want to bring your own breakfast supplies etc.
