Clos de Bellefontaine B&B

Lovely small inn within walking distance of Bayeux village. Classy. Carole is a gracious host who provided excellent hospitality. Breakfast is outstanding. The sitting room and grounds are lovely and all rooms are comfortable and tastefully appointed. Spotless. On site, gated parking is a plus.

What can I say? A perfect stay! My husband and I stayed at this charming property in January. It was our first stop on our trip, and it was our favorite spot. From the second you enter, it'll charm you. The owners, Carole and Jérôme are the most lovely people that you could ever meet. We honestly thought that they were the perfect people to run a charming guest house. We so enjoyed chatting with them. They also have a couple of adorable pets that we got to visit with in the garden, which was a big bonus for us, as huge animal people. (Tell Bazile and Marcelle bonjour for us!) The grounds are impeccable, and there is a private parking space, which is not the most common thing to find. We were planning to drive all around the north coast so that was perfect for us. On that note, if you like to drive around on your own as we do.....we saw Mont Sainte Michele, St Malo, the Normandie beaches, and even went over to see Etretat. It was divine to drive around, and enjoy all of the sights. We stayed in 'Elegance', which was huge(!!) and beautifully appointed. A modern washroom with a cosy towel warmer, and the room was very serene, with glorious windows overlooking the garden. The mattress was particularly comfy. Neither of us sleep well as a rule, and we slept like champs while there. Breakfast, as many have noted, does not disappoint. Carole's house-made jams were a special standout for us. Local pastries, and a treat of a different local cheese every morning, with fresh fruits, etc. The parlor is a cozy spot to sit after a long day of touring around. We travel quite a lot, and we will always have a special fondness for Clos De Bellefontaine. I hope we'll visit it again one day, and in the meantime we will be sharing it with our fellow travel buddies.

Wonderful experience for our 3 night stay at Clos De Bellefontaine. Carole has thought of everything including an email prior to our visit providing information to book dining reservations for restaurants that were otherwise fully booked and turning people away. We especially loved the freshly baked cake for breakfast and the French Bread and butter plus the apéritif. Thank-you Carole for meeting us during the afternoon to occupy our room. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.
