Although we received a friendly welcome, we didn’t think this B&B quite measured up to some of the comments made on Tripadvisor. It is well-located in the Dordogne valley just outside Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. The room we took with a verandah was modern although lacking in comfortable chairs. There is a decent-sized pool and the hot tub can be pre-booked. One can soak up the peaceful location and varied birdsong either on the verandah or by the pool. Breakfast (8-10am) was international and a good selection, which included home-made confitures, yoghurt and, if liked, freshly squeezed orange juice, cheese and ham. However, as we were the last to arrive at 9am we had to put up with the host insensitively crashing about as he cleared up around us and did the washing up in what is their living/dining/kitchen and reception room. Fred and Jules offer a dinner at 25€ per person on certain evenings as long as there are four people. On offer is one item for each course of locally-sourced French food, in which they quite clearly take pride, but disappointingly, despite being asked before arrival, nothing was suitable for our previously advised dietary needs. This is clearly a B&B much frequented by French guests where everyone sits around one large communal table, not uncommon in France. If you are a non-French speaker you might find this rather uncomfortable. One final curiosity: we were surprised that our bed was never made each morning, and hence the lower rating for cleanliness.

Séjour de 4 jours très agréable dans une chambre d'hôte de grand confort au calme. Fred et Jules sont très accueillants et donnent plein de bons conseils pour découvrir Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne et la région. Les repas de la table d'hôtes sont excellents. La piscine est très appréciable.

Excellent séjour, très bon petit déjeuner, et excellents dîners. Bon accueil qui nous met tout de suite dans l'ambiance de votre maison d'hôtes. Le seul problème c'est que la girafe est restée sur place, malgré plusieurs tentatives d'enlèvement. Ne sachant toujours pas qui est Jules de Fréd....mais gardons un très bon souvenir des deux. Restez comme vous êtes les garçons. Si vous êtes curieux d'une bonne table et belle chambre, allez y vite sans soucis . Joe et Dani d'Ussel

Nous avons été parfaitement bien accueillis par Fred et Jules dans un environnement calme et reposant. La chambre d'hôte est très propre, et les plats proposés par les hôtes sont excellents. Nous avons pu découvrir une belle région et fait de belles rencontres. Expérience à renouveler et à conseiller sans hésitation.

Très bon accueil de nos hôtes, simplicité, pas de tape à l'œil, hôtes à l'écoute. Repas conviviaux permettant des échanges tant avec les autres pensionnaires qu'avec les propriétaires. Les plats étaient simples et goûteux, préparés par Jules avec les légumes cultivés au jardin par Fred. Petits déjeuners copieux et complets (sucrés ou salés). Facilité de stationnement dans un endroit calme et verdoyant. Chambre ET salle d'eau très propres, aménagés avec goût; nous avons apprécié le clin d'œil à la musique avec les instruments disposés ça et là dans la chambre. Nous recommandons.

Maison d'hôte au calme en pleine campagne. La chambre Champagne très agréable avec son entrée indépendante et sa terrasse. Très bon accueil de Fred, qui est de très bons conseils et féru en histoire. Jules en cuisine nous a préparé de bons mets, une mentions spéciale pour les terrines et la tarte aux noix. Pt déjeuner très copieux, avec des oeufs des poules de la maison. De bonnes spécialités à la vente avant de partir. Bon séjour, bcp de curiosités ds un environnement très proche Bonne continuation à vous 2

La chambre est spacieuse, une grande salle de bain (le matelas un peu mou et le lit trop bas) . Cuisine maison faite avec les produits du jardin. Le cadre est calme et reposant. Très bon accueil des propriétaires. Ils nous ont bien guidés et informés sur les visites à faire

On se fesait une joie de venir, malheureusement notre chat est tombé gravement malade, on a voulu annuler 36h avant, mais nous avions une réservation via smartbox, il faut annuler 72h avant. Il n’ont pas du tout été compréhensif. Ne nous ont pas proposé d’arrangement ni de geste commercial. C était une box à 250 euros, dont ils vont recevoir la somme sans prestation et que nous perdons. C’est du vol manifeste!

Un endroit très calme, reposant au milieu de la nature, la piscine et le jacuzzi très appréciables. Fred et Jules vous recevront avec beaucoup de savoir-faire. La boutique avec tous les produits locaux et le " fait maison " est un plus. Une adresse au bord de la Dordogne à retenir. Jean
