Ida's Motel & Restaurant

Ignore the 1-star reviews from years ago. We stayed here in July 2024 while travelling back from Dawson City home. Our room was excellent. Very clean, had a fridge, appeared to be recently renovated with new bathroom fixtures and linoleum. This is not on the same scale as a Hilton or Marriott, but if you're looking for a place to stay while passing through on the Alaska Highway, this place is fine. I would stay here again, and will recommend it to others.

Room was clean but lacked basic amenities like 2 pillows on the bed and wifi. Seems to be a one woman show with the same person at the front desk, making the food in the restaurant and taking cash for the gas pumps. Even as an overnight guest, we paid $3 each for a small styrofoam cup of coffee in the morning. No coffee machine in the room …

Our first stay at Ida's Motel while visiting relatives. We noted poor reviews in past. There are new owners, trying hard to better the place. It is a good motel, in good condition. The rooms that allow pets are in an older part of the property. Rooms were good size, clean and good beds. It is a highway motel, not the Hyatt, but I would not hesitate to recommend it for a travel stop. The restaurant and bar are open but we ate at our relatives place so can't comment on the food.

We arrived with a prebooked stay, the staff's paper was a mess and they they could find the reservation in their mess, they had no computers. The room was dirty and there were leftovers between the bedclothes left by the last guest, the bedclothes had not been changed. we tried to communicate with the indian man who ran the hotel but he could barely speak english Drive on and find another motel.

Only place in town with available accommodation. Mid season, no restaurant service. Asked for first floor room because of mobility issues, did not appear all of those rooms were taken but possible. Stairwells full of dirt, dead bugs and cobwebs. Ok, outside access rooms, no big deal. Entered room, appears nice. Turned on lights, lighting dingy, tri-lights only worked on one setting. Bathroom lighting poor. Beds comfortable and appeared clean. No kleenex; no coffee maker; no clock radio; one glass; no complimentary items of any kind; internet pw given to us but we had to ask for it but internet connection ceased in early evening and did not come on again, pw had been changed; Dust on secondary surfaces, had not been cleaned for weeks. Cleanliness was substandard, did not use the shower; bathtub had water marks, soap scum on chrome fixtures, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months; on further inspection of bath linens found stains. Do not recommend this motel to anyone. Wasted $166.

Don't stop! Don't even look in! Step on the gas and get the hell out of dodge! The only way I could recommend this Sheet Whole is if the choice was stay here or that you were to die a horrific death chained to a pork carcass and tossed into a pond of starving crocodiles........and even then I would take a few moments to decide. We stayed one night and experienced the exact same issues that are mentioned in the other reviews plus more that weren't brought up. For example- No smoke detector in the room! How does that get by a safety inspection? The restaurant which on the web site shows as a functioning amenity is closed down and has been for a number of years now! The gas pumps are dead but we watched numerous travellers stop in for gas mainly because when you see a large sign atop a gas station advertising 24hr gas you kind of get the feeling that it would be a gas station that sells gas. WiFi?? What wifi?? Its not even an available feature for customers! Only one towel in room and as I go to manager to get a second towel there is another guest already there also getting a second towel because they too only had one in their room. We had to brush our teeth with the bathtub faucet because the sink faucet handle spins aimlessly and falls off, its not even connected. As we were walking to our room we passed a guest carrying an empty ice bucket back to her room as she found out there is no ice machine at this hotel so she asked what the purpose of the ice bucket was. Unfortunately there is more and more but I think my point has been made. Even if your vehicle breaks down in front of this place in sub 0 temps in January in the worst snowstorm of the century with a pack of wolves circling your car get out and push it to the next town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called this hotel several hours before arriving to check vacancy and price. The man quoted me $148 for a double room for 2 adults & 2 kids. I tried to reserve, but he said he had plenty of rooms and just took my name down. We finally arrived at 10:30pm after a 12 hour driving day. After knocking on room 101, the man said it would now be $200 since we had 2 kids! I made this clear when calling earlier, grrr! There were no other options in Beaver Creek and it was too late to make it to Tok. Once in our room, we checked the beds and found body hair in both beds. They do not change the sheets between guests, disgusting!! My husband marched back to room 101 and notified the man that we were not sleeping in dirty beds. A young-adult boy brought 2 sets of clean sheets and tried handing to us. My husband pointed him to the beds. For $200 dollars a night, we are not doing their job! Also, fyi…no coffee, hairdryer or AC. Our room did have a standing fan though. The sink plumbing leaks terribly all over the floor, huge hazard. This hotel clearly does not care about their customers. Keep driving!

If you can book another hotel or lodging in Beaver creek do so and avoid staying here. The owner turns off the hot water sometime during the day and doesn't turn it on until around 5:30 in the morning so if you want an early shower it's going to be lukewarm to tepid. There's no coffee pot in the room. Only one glass to drink from. Something was knocking in the wall that kept me up driving me nuts. There is no microwave. Nothing opens until later in the day so if you want coffee it's going to be instant and cold in your room.
