The Grand Oaks Resort

Grand Oaks cancelled my booking , tried to blame ******* , not true , ******* still had a valid booking for us , which we had booked and paid 11 months ahead . Told they could see cancelled via email but couldn’t see who it was from….???? Our room was gone so needed to book more expensive room ,which we were told we had to pay extra $200, after more discussion that was reduced to $90. Told to cancel ******* booking , and pay them directly , which we did , no other option. No apology or accepting responsibility, customer service was non existent….apart from Michelle . It was disappointing as nice accomodation,lovely grounds and nice restaurant.

Room was clean, with really lovely views of the garden from our location. The only thing other thing that I’d have preferred was to have a microwave to warm up food however, there is a restaurant on the premises which is available for dining. Some smaller plates or bowls would have been good too, for those early risers that prefer breakfast first thing (before the restaurant opens). Staff were friendly, the hotel was relatively quiet & the location was excellent given the proximity of the town centre, which was only a short distance away. Special mention to Loki at the bar for being a wonderful host.

Rooms a little dated but clean, Loki behind the bar and working the attached restaurant was fantastic and made our stay amazing. Pool looked nice but was a little cold to try it out. Magpies where very friendly and would eat out our hands when offered food.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and tidy, bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Limited choice, would like to see cereal included rather than all cooked menu. Surroundings was peaceful and relaxing with lots of beautiful flowers in bloom.

The room wasn't a true reflection of the images on the website, and considering that we booked many months in advance we were disappointed. The limited and very ordinary choice of food on the restaurant menu was in stark contrast to the old-fashioned and upmarket decor. In the time it took us to order and be served, two other tables had looked at the menu and left. Having said that, the chicken schnitzel wasn't bad.

You guys are a bloody joke Your rooms are disgusting Your beds are horrible Not to mention the filth of the rooms Your attitude matches your rooms Outdated and dull and down right rude I will never stay again and will let everyone in my power no not to stay When we asked for menu We where told we don't have everything on the tiny menu u did have as u were out of stock but it would be similar Which is pathetic Then when we send u email asking for refund on our room When first one was digusting with electrical problems U gave us another room but no bloody better Your email back to us Was the most pigheaded response I Think I have seen in all my years of the Industry I am in The Bug infested hole you are trying to make posh Just is not working for you I advise no one stay here at all You will not be happy

Rooms clean however bathroom showers require some TLC. Outdoor BBQ area not very inviting but to be fair was cleaned on our request. Rooms did not have any cutlery/crockery only glasses for the number of room guests. We were able to hire crockery and cutlery upon request. Staff need some training in friendliness as we felt we were a nuisance. On the whole we were disappointed with our experience.

This was a very disappointing experience for us. Firstly we had to share our room with several crickets both alive and dead, then there was the dead one that stayed in our room the whole time we were there. There were no power points next to the bed so it was a challenge to get up and Check the phone throughout the night. The pillows were terrible. I had the worst trip home with a sore neck. The teas coffee and biscuits were not restocked. There were also empty shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower..... Then to top off our stay the management were really rude especially when asking about disability parking....just did not care. The town of beechworth is beautiful but I do not recommend staying here.

Not really what we expected. The grounds are lovely and the restaurant and staff are amazing, the rooms however leave a bit to be desired. The bathroom set up is weird, the shower is on one side of the room and the toilet and vanity on the other as you enter the room. Our towel rail broke every time you out a towel on it and the old wall style hairdryer was kinda hanging off the wall!! The shower has mould in the grout and the water pressure was abysmal. Again the staff were lovely, shame the restaurant doesn’t get more patronage. They supply a continental breakfast for $15, we just went to town instead. They said they don’t do breakfast as they loose too much money!! We didn’t use the pool or facilities as it wasn’t warm enough. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. So many other options in the area.
