Campanile Hotel (Beijing South Railway Station Temple of Heaven) recensioner

Most of the time, the cleanliness of the room is ok. However, the gurst toilet on the ground floor is terribly dirty. Staff member seems not to care of the cleanliness. One of the Male staff seems drunk and made a mess of the guest toilet.

Hotel is level 2. front desk staff is helpful. very convenient for early flight or late night traveller.

The hotel is located in the old town, not too far off the 天坛 and many other attractions. However if one wants to travel around the hype hipster, you should avoid this area. There is a school right beside this hotel and every morning there are lots of honking and massive jam. So if you plan to head out, you need to consider the morning jam. My room 8217 has issue with the cold water on the 2nd night. No matter where I turn, the water are burning hot. Koodoos to the staff where they changed my room and apologies for the inconveniences. Overall not a bad place but considering the noise (I’m a light sleeper), I won’t be staying here again.

I got value for money. The only downside is the location. Subway is about 15 mins. walk away. The staff is great. The breakfast is nice. The room is clean. I liked it overall.

Actually it is a nice hotel and temple of heaven is in walking distance. Lovely neighbourhood but need to walk for everything. Train station and shops are abit far away. Besides, we felt abit not welcome by the front office staff. I believe if you expecting foreigners at the hotel your staff should be able to welcome them with nice smiles even you can’t speak English. Please don’t have the weird looking face or stare at them. Apart from that all okay.

Loved the room. It faces the road but except for occasional traffic, it's quiet at night. Near Temple of heaven south gate. Just turn left when exit hotel and keep walking till you see it. Most service staff are nice and helpful especially those at the reception. Lobby is not the same now, as walls are built to separate a space for breakfast. So my bad experience starts here. It is not clear who to give the breakfast ticket to as there was no counter, and an unpleasant experience when suddenly a girl appeared and I'm accused of not having a ticket when helping myself to the food. When I explained and pointed to my friend who has the ticket, she still could say I should have given it to her then. I suppose it was clearly written on her forehead for me to do so? Please also greet your guests good morning, it is basic manners, and the girl could just have stopped at asking if I've a ticket instead of accusing.

After getting tired of being 2 different hotel bookings, we found this hotel. It was very well-designed for guests. 1. The light design was perfect. After even turning off all the lights, there was a safe light to walk to the door. 2. Safety first in the shower room. 3. Breakfast was so rich and delicious. I recommend it to everyone. 4. Room decoration makes you smile. 5. Safety again for children. Look at that table. 6. So close to the bus stop and the Temple of heaven. :) I would recommend it to my friends and if I have the chance to visit Beijing again, this hotel definitely will be on my list.

The hotel was close to where we intended to go. In terms of tourist attractions, the South Gate of the Temple of Heaven is very close to the hotel.  They served nice breakfast and the lady who served the food there is very nice and friendly. I was charmed by her smile and her upbeat nature whenever we had breakfast.  One thing I did hate was smell of smoke coming from the hallway. Even thought there was "NO SMOKING" sign in the hall, other guests simply ignored it and smoke in the hall. I guess this is a cultural thing because this was a problem in almost every hotel we stayed throughout China. Guests are loud in the hallways even in the middle of the night. I found out that almost all hotels we stayed in different Chinese cities tend to clean their floor with minimal effort. Even if they clean it with damp cloth, there was hair and dust on the floor.

We stayed at the room at level 2 but it’s actually located at the same level as reception. It was clean but there is a very high steps to the toilet which can be a safety hazard. Have to take note of the bus stop u alight at as the bus stop near the hotel has the same name as the one opposite the road(which is an expressway). It will be a 20 mins walk instead of the 1 min walk as given by the map.

This was a nice hotel and I was happy with my room and stay. The staff were great. However it was a little too far out of the way for convenience for a tourist. Just far enough away from the metro to be a bother in the freezing Beijing weather. I had to use Didi instead. However very convenient to visit Temple of Heaven.

The hotel is far from the metro station and still on construction/renovation so still a lot of dusty around it. The rooms are located in the basement of the hotel.

Pros: Very clean, great european breakfast. Great personel. I'd recommend staying on upper floors (not basement). Cons: 1. Pretty far from metro station (15-20 minutes walking). Not a problem if you use taxi. 2. Room in basement floor supposed to have a window. Well, it has a window, but it's not looking to outside, it's looking to a service corridor. So, by fact there's no window. 3. There is some reconstruction in basement ongoing (Sept 2024). May be noisy.

Location is perfect if you want to visit the Temple of Heaven but subway is quite far: 25 minutes by walk. Hotel might be reached probably by bus but it is not easy for a foreigner understand routes: subway is a lot easier. Room was perfect, comfortable and clean. Service was good: we got water and also some fruits. Unfortunately personnel do not speak english at all but they were friendly and they tried to help. We were allowed to stay an extra hour after the check-out and we could leave our luggages at the reception. Wifi was good!
