We recently stayed for 3 days at this hotel as a family with an infant and while the overall stay was pleasant, I feel compelled to share some important points that made our experience fall short of what we expected from a five-star establishment. To begin with, we had booked a Premier Suite, anticipating a top-tier experience. Unfortunately, several issues left us feeling like we were staying in a three-star hotel at best. * Cleanliness was disappointing — the floors were visibly dirty, and when we wiped them with a white towel, it turned dark. Photos attached clearly show the level of cleanliness we encountered. * The room showed noticeable wear and tear, with interior elements feeling aged and in need of refurbishment. Some parts felt like they hadn’t been updated in decades. * On our last night, the bathroom light could not be turned off, which made it very difficult to sleep. With our baby already asleep, we couldn’t call anyone to fix it without disturbing her. * The spinning chair in the room looked stylish but made loud, unpleasant noises, making it impossible to sit and relax in peace. * Several power sockets (about four) were not working, which was frustrating — especially when we tried to make tea or charge devices. We had to use inconveniently placed sockets instead. * A lingering smell of cigarette smoke was present in the room throughout our stay, suggesting the furniture and fabrics have absorbed it over time. * The female sauna was completely non-functional, which was a disappointment. * We consistently pressed the "Do Not Disturb" button, hoping for privacy, but every time we left the room, it was cleaned despite our request. While it's nice that the room was cleaned, our preference should have been respected. * We also attempted to order food by phone twice, and our orders were never received. Whether this was due to a language barrier or other reasons remains unclear — but it was frustrating nonetheless. Considering that Sofitel is a well-established and globally recognized luxury hotel brand, you would never expect to come across such issues. All of the above certainly will influence our families and our friends future decisions when choosing Sofitel hotels . I want to stress that the stay overall wasn’t terrible — we enjoyed our time together as a family and had some positive moments. However, the above issues significantly detracted from what should have been a premium five-star experience. For the price and rating, we expected more attention to detail and basic functionality.

Rather good hotel. Centric location. Check in was well assisted by Eli Jiang to secure a king bed room. Breakfast variety was excellent too. Overall satisfying.

The hotel was pleasant and staff were good. However, the housekeeping continuously forgot to give us the correct towels. We had to call to remind them each night.  Despite this the room was well cleaned and the location was good for our purposes.

Amazing stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel as one of the best I have ever stayed in. We were upgraded for our honeymoon and provided with a wonderful welcome decoration. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, service is impeccable. Room service 24h with great choices and quality. Important to highlight that all staff at reception speak English (I read some reviews where other were complaining about the missing English-speaking staff), so for sure the hotel has done a great step ahead in this sense to welcome more international guests. I would love to be back one day!

Overall experience is good. Had a pleasant stay. Hotel has all the essentials that I need for a comfortable stay, receptionists were friendly too.

The room is great, but I was unhappy with the service 1. During check in I was asked to make payment for the hotel despite prepayment being made, I had to show the staff that prepayment was made and The counter staff showed no apologies.. 2. For the laundry service, the staff showed a lack of proactive, as the clothes were supposed to be FOLDED and return by next day 6pm.. which was not done, until I gave them a call and realized the payment has to be made first, despite me telling the staff (before passing them the clothes for washing)that I'll make payment upon check out(IN MANDARIN). For a 5 star hotel like this, it is rather disappointing.. which I would not consider staying at Sofitel globally again.

Staffs are helpful. Rooms are clean and tidy. Reception and corridors need more lights. It's a bit dark. Service are good. Location is ok.

Thanks the nice arrangement

The room was spacious and modern. The large hot tub was a great feature which allowed for a relaxing soak before bed. The view from the room was spectacular by day and by night. Views across Beijing extending as far as the mountains. The staff I encountered all spoke English to some degree. I would stay again. Walking distance to cafes and some sights.

We stayed on the 15th floor for 5 nights. The housekeeper is a wonderful man — he always took care of my family. The only downside was the lounge dinner service between 6–8 PM, which often ran out of soft drinks.

The room and facilities well kept and location is good to everywhere. Breakfast buffet is amazing with a lot of local food available 😍

The service was great. The breakfast was awesome. The spa has superb. I pool was nice. Definitely not the best 5 star I’ve stayed at, but definitely value for money.

I had an incredible experience at Sofitel Beijing. The rooms are spacious and clean, and I especially loved the spa-like bathtub. My children enjoyed soaking in it after a long day of exploring the streets of Beijing. The hotel is located in a great area with plenty of delicious food options nearby, and the train station is just a short walk away. Jackie at the front desk was extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Thank you, Sofitel Beijing, for making our vacation so memorable!

When I first came to Beijing, I stayed in the Sofitel Hotel. The staff there were extremely friendly. Jackie at the front desk greeted us. She speaks excellent English and is really beautiful. The stay in the hotel was very comfortable. The rooms are even a bit larger than those in hotels of other countries. I like Beijing very much.
