Mechar Qingju Hotel (Wangfujing Xiehe Hospital)

I needed a room just to rest and shower, so I was happy to find this clean little hotel. It is relatively very small compared to other hotels I usually stay at, but I knew what I was looking for during this particular trip. I was looking for an affordable, clean, condo hotel with a great location. This hotel met my criteria. I left all my luggage in Shanghai, so I only brought a small bag and a tote bag. That's why I did not have a problem with the fact that the room is enough for two people to rest comfortably, and that we need to just take the stairs to our room. The soundproofing might not be the best, but again, we're sleeping well without any problems. Cleanliness is excellent. I especially love the clean bathroom. The shower is in the same area as the toilet, so the toilet will get wet. For a standard bathroom in the US, this might not be proper, but I really did not mind it considering the price is really less than a two-star hotel. I am always trying to be reasonable. Bottom line, the bathroom is very clean. Basic toiletries were provided. Two bottles of water and an electric kettle were available. AC worked great. One great service that I want to mention is the willingness of the receptionist to help us make a reservation for the Tiananmen visit. We couldn't do it because of the system that didn't work with our US phone number. The receptionist used her phone number and went through the whole process to make a reservation for us. I greatly appreciate her help, and I hope the management will also recognize her great job too. Next to the hotel is a wonderful restaurant with great service and great food as well. It was so convenient. The location of this hotel is also convenient. It's easy to reach many tourist attractions and easy to get a taxi. For anyone looking for a budget place to stay, this is one to be considered.

Excellent location near Wangfujing, but tiny rooms and no lift Location & Value: This hotel is located near the Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, an area where hotels are typically very expensive. It is hard to find a hotel in this price range here, and most places are usually fully booked. You are definitely trading space for the convenience of a prime downtown location. However, in my opinion, the Wangfujing Pedestrian Street felt a bit quiet and wasn't as lively or interesting as the Qianmen area. Room & Amenities: The room is extremely small—so tight that two people will practically bump into each other while walking around. On the bright side, they provide an adequate supply of drinking water without being stingy. Service & Facilities: Be prepared for some heavy lifting, as the hotel has no elevator. You will have to carry your luggage up the stairs yourself, as the staff does not help with bags. Additionally, the staff does not speak English, so we had to communicate entirely through a translation app.

Clean and a great location. The best value in Beijing. A delayed flight through the Muddle East meant I didn't get there until after midnight but the 24 hour check in meant that was no problem.

Place was really close to the popular attractions. Super closer to shopping, literally just 5 min walk away. The room was clean and had the utility required for a hotel stay.

Friendly staff, clean amenities and great location! Hotel staff provided us with 560ml water bottles each time we returned to the hotel, which was appreciated in the hot summer weather. Room was cleaned daily - rubbish taken out, towels and bed linen replaced and water bottles provided daily.

The location is very good, not far from Wangfujing street and subway. Even at 10 PM, the area was still bright and felt safe. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Great price as well. Highly recommended for solo travelers!
