A wonderful surprise, perfect view, garden and atmosphere, great breakfast, very friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel and beautiful temple complex.

Awesome off the beaten path hotel! Very cool experience getting to sleep in the temple. The breakfast was also amazing. The view from our room was breathtaking. Would highly suggest this hotel for anyone wanting an authentic experience.

If you have mobility issues, then this place is not for you. If you don't, then you really have to give this place a try. It's amazing! Service is amazing. They are super helpful and helped carry our huge heavy luggage up. The whole place is so zen but best of all, is the view. Especially when the great wall lights up at night. Breakfast is plentiful and really good even though it's vegetarian. The whole place is just so zen and calm. Very quiet. I would stay here again if I return.

Nice at top hill hotel which need to take the step to go up. The view look down to oldtown and greatwall is nice. The breakfast also very nice and big portion. Really value for money.

Nice and clean hotel. Friendly staffs. Nice breakfast. Awesome view of the water town especially at night. Perfect spot for drone show. Highly recommended. Except need to climb up a flight of steps.

I am absolutely amazed by this place. It’s located directly in the Water Town, walking distance from all activities and from the Great Wall. Free shuttles running every 5-10 minutes and passing by the entrance. Spending the night in a Pagoda is a very uniqie experience. It’s very peaceful and quiet, the staff is super attentive, the room was sparkling clean. The breakfast was outstanding. Will be back 100%.

Very nice and unique hotel in the temple. Quite an experience. the hotel is very beautiful & good price. The room was clean and beautiful. Very private, quiet and no noise disturb or sleep. Nice vegetarian breakfast. But the cons is that the location is very far and tired to walk up many stairs. Also, theres no staff at the hotel at night (only phone number). Suggession tips : check the weather carefully and bring all necessity with you too the town, because you can't get back to the hotel often if you forget something.

Pretty unique spot to stay in a temple. The vegetarian vegan food at the restaurant is great. There are steps to get up but offers a great view of the scenic town. Very cool

Excellent view from our room that allows us to see the entire Gubei town and the great wall. Rooms were big and clean. The breakfast was also very nice. Would definitely recommend to those who don't mind having to climb 100 steps to this temple hotel

Very nice to stay in Yuantong pagoda inn, very peaceful and beautiful View. from the room can see Simatai Great wall and Gubei town. Room was clean and comfortable. I really love this place. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Firstly, Gubei Watertown is a very well managed tourist destination and Yuantong Pagoda is one of the accomodation there. Our room is peaceful and quiet and the small challenge is to walk up 2 flights of stairs to reach accomodation. It is well worth it as this high vantage point offer a good view of the town below and the Simatai Great Wall behind. The breakfast is super healthy and the tea they offered is nice. The water is so clean you can consume it off the tap in the washroom Interesting feature at the Pagoda : Do note that there is a cavern beneath the Pagoda which house interesting statues

I traveled here with my best friend and I was surprised by how amazing the location was. It is inside the temple near the pagoda, the rooms are literally inside a temple, it is pretty cool. Big rooms, Very clean, nice light, very interesting breakfast. We loved our stay there, especially the view. The rooms are way better in real than in the photos. Best place to stay in Gubei!
