I am a frequent traveler and I can describe my stay at Great Wall hotel in one word, PATHETIC. Staff is not friendly at all seemed they are not happy with what they are doing or force to work.
Room hygiene is very poor , patches and stains could be seen everywhere.
The add is misleading, their swimming pool is not functional but when I called them and confirmed twice they said that they have swimming pool but nothing was told about if it was functional or not .
Ms. Pauline from C. Trip was amazing and helped a lot and we got two breakfasts in compensation of the non functional swimming pool, the breakfast was just another disaster. For 88 yuan it was nothing . Over all it was just a very bad experience. This hotel and staff totally don’t match with their 5 star ratings. The only thing which is nice about this hotel is location. Other wise very highly over rated.

The hotel was supposed to work on its cards closing system every day I had to go to reception 3-4 times to get back to my room because the card only worked once and was very annoying

This hotel definitely does not meet 5-star standards. Exceptional service was not provided and the decoration is everything but modern. The young man that checked us in was friendly but the rest of the reception staff were either on their phone or unapproachable. We had to ask where the pool was situated, surely that should be said upon check-in or indicated somewhere in the hotel. Upon arriving at the room the bath plug was broken, it was fixed after calling the manager but surely the rooms should be checked before guests arrive. The rooms have not been renovated or maintained over the years, it's very old and rusted. The lack of two point plugs next to the bed is another headache. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Convenient location for the Lufthansa commercial area. We were upgraded to a very nice corner room with stunning view.
Staff was polite and professional.

Massive hotel , clean and friendly reception staff. Although check-in was a bit of a long wait, the check-in desk staff member was very welcoming, offered a better room with a nice view and even gave a little discount on payment! Food options limited as the restaurants in the hotel were closed, so was the hair salon. The highlight was the pool :) Comfy bed with decent room amenities.

Can walk to Metro stations within 10 min. Hotel may not be new, but the hardware is well maintained. After checkout, luggage can be temporarily stored at Concierge, whereby space is abundant.
