Yankee Clipper Motel

Incredibly clean and surprisingly quiet! Very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again if passing through this part of Maine. So glad we booked ahead, they were ‘no vacancies’. Room had a quiet air conditioner. Room had a mini fridge. Very close to ‘town proper’, and a local eatery just a road away.

After searching for hours and reading reviews we chose this location for our overnight stay. No breakfast options (though we found an awesome breakfast nearby!) but all else sounded like what we were looking for…and it was perfect! I love a good old fashioned motel!!! The young man at check-in was great…we showed up shortly before the end of his shift but he was so pleasant. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was firm and comfortable…the pillows were firm but comfortable! I used two to help with my snoring but my partner was good with one. I would definitely stay here again!!

What I want from a hotel/motel is cleanliness and up to date furnishings. Don't let "motel" scare you off. Compared to all the Hampton Inns I've stayed at lately these accommodations are MUCH better. I highly recommend. In addition, Belfast has one of the best harbor walks in the state of Maine. Everyone loves Kennebunkport but Belfast is much more interesting and has a longer waterfront walk.

We started staying here several years ago when we could no longer stay at my father in laws house in Belfast because of my having severe allergies to his wife’s cats—and as much as I look forward to seeing family every summer I LOVE staying here just as much. You will never find a cleaner room. There should be a picture of the rooms If you look up the word immaculate in the dictionary. It literally feels like you are the first guests to ever be staying in that room which has just been renovated or built with brand new everything except there’s no new paint smell! And the bed: THE MOST COMFORTABLE I have ever slept in my entire life—and I travel ALOT for work. The all white linens which are always so crisp and soft are remarkable for such an affordable “motel setting.” Having stayed in many luxury 5 star+ hotels I can say the Yankee Clipper is cleaner than them all and is simply one of the most comfortable places to sleep. My only teeny “delta” (thing I would change”) is the size of the towels. I am not a big person at all but the bath towel is too small to cinch around my torso —it’s more a plus size floor mat.

I made this last minute reservation for a one night stay after several days traveling. Comments on TripAdvisor talked about how clean the rooms were & the reviews were correct- it was immaculate. The desk clerk, Frank, was very nice & gave great recommendations on area restaurants for dinner that night & breakfast the next morning. He also noted the on site laundry facility but I didn’t need to use it. The room was quite large with a good layout. The king size bed was very comfy & the drapes closed completely so there was no light peeking in.

Had a recently renovated room - lots of space, very clean. Check in a breeze. Reasonably quiet for just off the main road. Would recommend for a great overnight stop. Note: no breakfast available but do check out Almandine Cafe just north (a km or so) of the motel.

This motel is immaculately clean. Looks recently renovated. It’s on a main road but not too noisy, very close to downtown Belfast. Easy check-in and check-out. Would definitely stay here again. Four stars only because there’s no WiFi, but there is a TV with lots of cable channels.

Our check in process was quick and once in our room it was evident how clean it was. The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water. The room was not huge but very comfortable. It was a short walk to the waterfront. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

First time staying here and we stayed for 3 nights. Found the room to be very clean. Bed was comfortable. We were in the end unit so didn't have rooms on both sides, but found it very quiet. Like most, the bathrooms lack enough hooks to hang wet towels, but if you bring your own suction hooks, there's plenty of place to put them. One surprise was finding a roll of paper towels near the microwave/fridge counter.....certainly put them to good use during our stay! Would definitely recommend this motel and will would stay again when in the area!
