WE BOOKED 3 X DOUBLE ROOMS (A YEAR IN ADVANCE - MAY 2024) FOR AN EVENT WE WERE ATTENDING ON SATURDAY ON 25TH MAY 2025. UPON ARRIVAL THE MEMBER OF STAFF AT RECEPTION HAD NO IDEA HOW TO COMPLETE THE CHECK-IN PROCESS. HE COMMENTED HE WAS THE NIGHT PORTER AND WAS NOT USED TO DOING THIS TYPE OF WORK! HE MADE A PHONE CALL TO A SUPERVISOR AND GOT NO RESPONSE! WE ASKED HIM TO TRY AND GIVE US A KEY TO ONE OF THE ROOMS AND WE COULD SORT THE OTHER TWO ROOMS UPON OUR RETURN. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT ROOM 13, THE ROOM WAS FILTHY, BED UNMADE, BIN OVERFLOWING WITH RUBBISH AND TOWELS ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR. WE HAD NO ALTERNATIVE BUT TO LEAVE OUR BAGS IN THE ROOM AS WE HAD A TAXI WAITING ON US. BEFORE I LEFT, I ASKED THE MEMBER OF STAFF TO MAKE SURE OUR BELONGINGS WOULD BE SAFE. TO MAKE SURE THIS WAS CARRIED OUT, I FOLLLOWED UP WITH A PHONE CALL AND WAS REASSURED OUR BELONGINGS WOULD BE SAFE AND ALL ROOMS WOULD BE READY FOR US UPON OUR RETURN. UNFORTUNATELY THIS WAS NOT THE CASE! TO OUR ABSOLUTE ASTONISHMENT ALL OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS HAD BEEN THROWN INTO THE CORRIDOR OF THE HOTEL AND ONLY 2 OF THE 3 ROOMS WERE AVAILABLE. IN FACT, ONE OF THE ROOMS WAS ALREADY OCCUPIED BY SOMEONE! WE DID NOT FEEL SAFE AND DECIDED NOT STAY! I'M STILL AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE OWNERS REGARDING COMPENSATION!
