The Culloden Estate and Spa

I cannot recommend this hotel any more than I hope. It is by far the best place I have stayed and our anniversary was made all the better thanks to this hotel. Better part is the train station Cultra is on the site and goes straight to Belfast Centre so no need to drive anywhere near the city.

We’re lucky that this fabulous hotel is basically on our doorstep, so we frequently visit the Lough Bar for drinks on a Saturday night. The staff are always friendly and attentive and it has a really great atmosphere. There is entertainment in the form of a singer on Saturday nights. We love the olives and ‘snacky bits’ that we get to go with our drinks. I’d highly recommend here for couples especially. We love it so much, we’re getting married at it in 2025!!

Driving up to the beautiful Culloden Estate, it was dark and raining. As we stopped our car at the front door, two of the wonderful staff ( Neemah and James) instantly ran out to help with the bags. After Tripping in to check in to the friendly front desk clerk and lamenting about my curly hair in the Irish weather, our bags were quickly taken to our room. The room was beautiful but before we could unpack, my husband noticed he couldn’t open the safe. One quick call to front desk and a minute later, the gentleman who brought our bags was back to fix the safe. Fixed in a few seconds, we hurried down to the amazing bar to calm our nerves from the rainy “drive on the left” trip to Belfast from Dublin. Who do we see greeting guests? Again, Neemah and James. I asked if they had twins? The expresso martini at the bar area was the best I’ve ever had and bar staff so kind and attentive. My husband had asked Neemah about the building and he appeared again to ask if we’d like to tour certain parts. Would we??? This estate is amazing so you can imagine our surprise and delight at being told we were being upgraded to a suite! Everything was absolutely perfect, staff, food, the suite, the view. We cannot give it enough stars. Culloden and its staff, especially Neemah, treated us like family. Family that they love.

A balance between Luxury and comfort. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a beautifully decorated suite as it was a special occasion, which had exceptional views of the gardens and the lough. There are several restored features from the original building such as the stain glass windows. The location is perfect with a nearby train station that brings you to the city center. I attended the spa and had a relaxing treatment before heading for a delicious cocktail in Lough bar. We ate in the Cultra Inn that night and I am still dreaming about the chicken curry and Parmesan fries. Breakfast was very personal to the hotel, as it was full of local produces including the scuffins which were delicious. Overall Culloden, far exceed my high expectations and was a truly fantastic experience.

This was a treat for my father in law and we were not disappointed. There was a vast amount of delicious food which included an expresso size soup, sandwiches and huge choice of cakes. The price was comparative with other afternoon teas we have had. Service was excellent, a very enjoyable experience.

On entering the spa we were welcomed by a lovely lady and Joel. What a great team. The lady who's name I forget showed us around before our facial. Amazing facilities and spotlessly clean. We normally go to the merchant but after a bad experience.....not in the spa but the restaurant we will never be returning. Saying that the Culloden experience was exceptional in every way so to be honest we would not have returned to the merchant. Another thing I'd like to mention were the ladies that did our facials. Amazing. What we loved even more was there were no pressures to buy their products, which we will on our next visit. You can eat in their lounge area with ur robe on and no makeup and not feel uneasy. All the staff are just lovely. You wouldn't have thought it was our first visit. We stayed there for 5 hours. In a word AMAZING. If you ever have some free time, go. Ull feel amazing when you leave. It's also much cheaper than the hyped up Merchant with much better facilities. Hastings your team are amazing. We can't wait to return
