The Outpost

Clean, affordable, very simple and organized. We felt safe and perfect spot to stay before entering Yellowstone.

Since I needed a quick night before flying out of Bozeman, this hotel was perfect! Text messages were thorough, kind, and detailed to make my stay perfect. Thank you!

Rooms are very no frills but beds are comfy, everything is impeccably clean, there are great seating areas where you can relax, and there are lots of good restaurants within a short distance. Be aware that they keep it very cool (65-67 degrees) so plan accordingly.

The Outpost was a wonderful surprise! The room, building, and surrounding area all felt welcoming and had an energetic, up-and-coming vibe. The value for the price was truly exceptional. My only complaint was the noise. The soundproofing in the room could be improved, as we could hear every door opening and closing throughout the night. Unfortunately, we were located right next to the bathroom, which made the frequent traffic even more noticeable. Thankfully, the staff thoughtfully provided earplugs, which were much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again, just not in the room by the bathroom next time!

Awesome My stay at the Outpost was awesome! As soon as I walked in, the place smelled amazing, which made a great first impression. I was initially skeptical about staying at a hostel, but I was really just looking for a place to sleep—and it ended up exceeding all my expectations. The space was clean, welcoming, and surprisingly comfortable. The manager was super nice and made me feel right at home. The only downsides were the shower setup: the shower head was really high, so the water came straight down on my head. As a Black woman without a shower cap, that was a bit frustrating. Also, the shower had a curtain in a small space, which kept sticking to me while I was showering—definitely not ideal. Other than that, the place served its purpose perfectly. I'd definitely consider staying again!

Nice place to stay, the only thing I would have changed was maybe providing a bag to take dirty clothes home and also more than one additional blanket since no one is around to give you more. I was fairly chilly and you cannot adjust the temperature of your room. The place is also quite noisy. Our neighbors were laughing and talking until late and the doors close pretty loudly though it didn't bother me too much as I put on white noise.
