Holiday World Riwo Hotel.

We went here for our first family holiday. 2 adults and 2 children ( 1 year old and 8 year old) Hotel was clean and rooms very spacious. When we first arrived we were given a top floor room, but we're concerned about our 1 year old climbing over the balcony.. so we ask the staff if we could change rooms. The staff were so helpful and changed us to a lower lever room straight away to the dino themed room which my kids loved. The pool was great for young ones and the staff at the snack bar and entertainment were friendy and great with the kids Food was your typical all inclusive but there's something for everyone. Yes hotel is between 2 towns and is a 15 euro taxi each way, but we kinda knew this when booking this holiday. But shuttle bus down to main road for buses and taxis and also to the beach club which was great. Overall the hotel was ideal for our first family holiday. Would definitely recommend for families with young children. Made our first family holiday one to remember!!

So you want honestly or a lie? Going to make it easier by going a pros and cons list, Pros They went all out for Halloween, speedy check in, the rooms were massive, free shuttle bus to the bottom of the hill, they went out with alcohol they weren't small. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they are my only pros. Cons Very limited hot food options, unless you eat salad all the time the options for hot meals were very limited, plus they were quite cold, by day 3 I got bored of eating the same things. Flies all over the food in the hall doesn't nothing was covered. Paying 75 euros straight up for your wrist band is something I have never experienced before. Location is in the middle of 2 towns there isn't anything there for you. The mini market wasn't much of a mini market as it had barely any food if you went self catering. The dining hall smelt like sour milk all the time. Nothing much for kids to do as the splash park was closed. If your child is roughly the same as mine being 8 he didn't want to go to kids clubs but wasn't old enough to go to the zone which is 12+ which he would of loved that. The spa was okay, nothing to rave about the indoor pool wasn't that warm, no where for kids to really swim as it was 140 cm so my son barely touched the floor. Wasn't much on for day time activities. Snack bar you basically had to pay for everything which again isn't something I'm use to as normally hey ice creams with all inclusive yet we didn't here. Beds very squeaky. The shower also leaked into the hall in our room, the hair dryer was broke on the wire as well very dangerous. It's just not a hotel I would return too, the whole concept isn't what an all inclusive holiday should be about.

Just returned from this hotel - we were a family of three adults and a 6 year old. Location - this complex is out in the sticks, half way between Benalmadena and Fuengirola. There are no shops or restaurants to have a short stroll out to, apart from Geckos Beach Shack near the slope down to the beach. Didn't use public transport, but taxis to either town were about 12-15 euros. Rooms - big but very dated. Mixed opinions in our group on how comfortable the beds were. Think we may have just dropped lucky in our room. Nice to have a little kitchen area, but I would recommend taking a tea towel, cloth and a bit of washing up liquid if you are planning to use it. Kettle was provided. Bathroom has a separate shower cubicle with doors that don't close very well so you end up with a flooded floor. Neither showers over the bath in both our rooms worked. Towels are poor quality. Food - you won't starve, but it's definitely not the best all inclusive food I've ever had. Poor choice of cereal at breakfast. No milk for tea near the brew machines, and the fruit juice in the machines are just like pure sugar. They had a dispenser of real orange juice near the food, but if you got there after 10am it was empty and never refilled. Husband also found a big black hair in his food one evening, which can happen anywhere, but was a bit off putting. Hot pool snacks are poor quality, but the salad and cold meats were ok to make yourself a sandwich. Pool area - great pool for our 6 year old grandaughter and it was not overly deep. Was also a good temperature all day. Loungers are not great - grubby and they just lie flat. Didn't see any staff clearing away rubbish that people can't be bothered putting in the bin themselves. Entertainment - evening shows are poor, and the seating area cramped. We booked at reception to go over to Polynesia for their evening Entertainment which was mostly very good. Riwo guests can have AI drinks there 9-11pm, some nights they asked for our room number, so best to book. Beach club - really enjoyed the beach club. The restaurant here does better food than in Riwo. Great pool areas - something for everyone. Watch out for added costs. Extra charges for popcorn, crisps and ice creams at the pool bars. I would consider returning to the complex, but definitely not to Riwo. Polynesia is a much nicer hotel if you can stretch the extra cost. There is no way the Riwo is a 4 star hotel - an average 3 star at best.

We stayed as a family of 5, all inclusive. The staff are lovely and the kids club staff were great. Our room was clean and fresh. The bathroom was sometimes a bit musty but didn't detract from our stay. The shower leaked but that was probably a user error than anything else. The main pool was fab for the kids, two shallow ends and the middle was deepest at 1.4m. The kids pool was being worked on but it didn't detract from the stay and to be honest, I think the main pool was probably better for my children as they could all play together regardless of age. The bar and food by the pool was fab, staff very friendly and kids could just go up and ask for drinks and ice cream. The indoor pool was available during our stay, we used it twice within our stay with no issues. Food is your average all inclusive, we stayed for a week and the main theme of the night changed daily with no repetition, I found no major issues with the food. Obviously there are the main stays like burgers/hot dogs/ chips etc but that was fine for the kids. Lots of fresh fruit available as well. Kids loved the little park and met a lot of other kids and played well. Adults able to get to the bar and sit outside whilst kids played. Mini golf was hilarious, it's slanted to one side and balls bounced off here, there and everywhere but we had a good laugh about it. For the beach, just take the coach down the hill and head right. There are stairs down to the beach, if you continue to walk an extra 10mins, there are shops etc. not too far to be honest if you're up for the walk. Nightly entertainment, kids mini disco every night at half 8. There is a kids club, which my kids went to once but they preferred to play in the pool. We also went to the zoo, for us it was about a 50£ all round Uber trip (5 of us) but would be cheaper for less people, had a great time and saw lots of animals that we hadn't seen before. Kids enjoyed it. Overall, we had a fabulous holiday. The hotel was clean and fresh. Minor issues but none that would mean we wouldn't return.

We are here atm due to fly home tomorrow night we have had a great stay over the past week. We arrived early hours of the morning and were very welcomed by the woman at reception who talked everything through with us and gave us our wrist bands ( we also didn’t have to pay any sort of deposit for our wrist bands which i heard you had to do but no mention of that for us which was a nice surprise) Our room was very spacious and clean and air con works good as-well as wifi the majority of the time. The beds are on the harder side for our liking but i find the majority of beds in spain are like this and they were still comfortable. The hotel left us plates of food and water in the fridge as bars were closed when we arrived which was a nice touch. The cleaning staff done a very good job and we always had fresh towels and a made up bed. Our only issue was with our balcony the kids above us kept throwing there sweets into our balcony area which caused quite a lot of ants to appear. The food was nothing special just typical all inclusive foods however i wouldn’t say anything i tried was particularly bad. I am vegetarian so my options were limited however i was pleasantly surprised there was always a meat free alternative to fit around the themed dinner nights as well as a very impressive salad bar. my favourite was the vegetable lasagna on Italian night and spicy potatoes for Spanish night were excellent The soft drinks were kinda a hit or miss sometimes they were flat i also recommend you bring your own plastic cups as the ones at the hotel are paper. the bar staff will refill your own cups for you no problem. The pool area was great and sun lounger don’t really fill up until after 10am which is nice if your want a lie in. the animation team around the pool for daytime activities were great and bingo every day was enjoyable. A few complaints about the pool area however is that the sun loungers are not adjustable so not comfy if you want to sit up and have a drink or read a book. My biggest complaint however is the amount of people around the pool area and loungers who smoke so many cigarettes all day long, the smell of the smoke was unbearable at times and it really started to irritate my eyes, if i had children i definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable with them being surrounded by all that smoke all day. There should really be a designated smoking area for people who need it. Evening entertainment isn’t the best but we are not the type to enjoy hotel entertainment too much. It’s catered towards children and they did all seem to love it. we went to benalmadenas marina one night to watch the spain euros game in a bar and it was absolutely brilliant highly recommend paying a visit to the area for a night. It was 12 euros each way one using bolt and one a regular taxi so we found no difference in price. we also walked to fuengirola one night it was about 30 minutes each way and we didn't find it to be a hard walk at all the hill is steep so maybe not

Just got back from 4 nights and I can honestly say we had the best time! I can not understand people leaving bad reviews! Just ignore the negative comments. The food was good was lots to chose from the staff were friendly and very helpful! Room was good and clean. There is so much to do here and the polynese and the beach club was brilliant! We caught a bus to the marina one day to which was great and was only 3 euros for a return . Already looking at booking to go back!’
