Alpenhotel Fischer

I found the inflexible table seating policy disappointing. It felt like being treated as if in a prison or school, where guests staying in more expensive rooms were given priority and I was asked to only sit at the assigned table. This overshadowed what could have been an amazing stay, as the food and service were satisfactory. However, the rigid adherence to policies really tarnished the overall impression of the hotel. A more empathetic approach from staff would greatly improve the overall experience for all guests.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Alpenhotel Fischer. The staff were lovely, speaking great English but being patient in letting me try speaking German too. Hotel facilities were great with breakfast being a highlight. Lots of choice and all very fresh. The room (117) was spacious and clean. The location is on the edge of Berchtesgaden and right next to a supermarket which was very handy. With that said, all I’d point out is that to get to Berchtesgaden centre, it’s around a 25 minute walk, with some uphill in either direction. This was no issue for us personally but would be an issue if you’re not into lots of walking. The buses stopped running around 8pm so we often got the bus into the centre for dinner but then walked back. This is not a criticism as it was nice to be out of the centre when we were ready to retire for the night, but merely something I wanted to point out for future guests. All in all, it was a fabulous stay and this hotel is one I would absolutely recommend to visitors of Berchtesgaden.

One of the bestest hotels I have ever stayed. There is not one negative thing I would point out. Convenient location, big, spacious rooms. Bathrooms super clean. The wellness area with saunas TOP!. All the staff is very friendly (special greetings to waitress Petra, who made our evening enjoyable). Food amazing. Book at least 2 nights to fully enjoy this lovely place. Hopefully to be back very soon

The entire staff, from reception, to waiters and housekeeping, were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and very clean. The food was extremely tasty, fresh and the service prompt and polite. The hotel was in off the road, very quiet with an excellent view of the Alps.

I really find it weird to be met by a receptionist with her breasts pushed up into my face. I know it’s a alpen Hotel and she was wearing a national costume, but … If you order room service you are charged 8€ in bring up fee. Compared to other hotels I have visited, the price is double and this hotel is a small hotel so the distance is short to the rooms. A 5 star hotel in Cyprus it is actually free of charge. The hotel is in general nice but old. It seems to be maintained, but anyway the shower head wasn’t descaled. The staff is nice, but nevertheless appear confused, probably because English is not native. Parking conditions are critical. It is almost impossible to get a space and if you do get one, your car is parked so close, so if you avoid bumps you are lucky.

Not a pleasant stay. Staff were not friendly and the food was not good. Upon arrival, we selected the half board. At dinner, we were given a table at an empty room that had a bad smell. Supposedly, the other dining rooms were full but we had seen many empty tables. We were generally surprised with the unwelcoming attitude of the staff. We cannot recommend this hotel for American travelers.
