Hotel Birgit Berlin Mitte

The hotel is more like a back packers, when you walk in the first thing you see is a car in the lounge/bar area. There is an outdoor area which backs onto a kindergarten, and out the front is a primary school. There is an elevator to your room. The passage is dark and has a strong damp smell to it. The room is a good size, again quirky with a drum and a guitar as bedside tables. The bad was a little on the hard side and the pillows were very soft. The shower was very dangerous to get in and out of, you had to step up to get in and out, not good for older or handicapped people. Our aircon keeps on turning off and when it did work it leaked water onto the floor, we had to use our towels to soak the water up. When we reported this we were told by the rude reception lady that we shouldn’t keep it on all day and night. I did explain to her that we didn’t use it during the day as we weren’t there but she shrugged me off and did nothing about it. The bar is open all night and the male bar staff were very friendly and helpful.there are no washing facilities on offer. Breakfast was ok, the coffee machine was good. The location is ok if you wish to catch busses/ trains to the city centre. There are lots of eateries in walking distance. We stayed here as it was close to relatives.

Stayed here three nights. Basic but clean and our bed was comfortable. A great location as it is just a couple of minutes away from Senefelderplatz underground station, so easy to get around the city. Would happily visit again if going back to Berlin.

Stayed with wife. Room cozy, yet spacious for two. Bathroom modern. Elevator fast. Lobby, breakfast/nightcap area (inside and outside) very nice, relaxing. Lots of nice details. Breakfast outstanding! Neighborhood is safe, quiet and near everything. Easy to get to hotel via Berlin subway. Night staff multi lingual. No issues communicating with staff even though we spoke no German.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They are willing to take your money but not provide a advance fully paid room. My husband and I paid for the hotel in full for 2 nights before traveling to Berlin. We had a travel complication and were not able to check in the first night and had no means of communicating with the hotel. When we showed up on the second day to check in, we were turned away because the hotel was fully booked and our paid room was given away. We were told that because we didn't check in, they sold our room to someone else. Bizarre. The room was paid and reserved for us. We explained that because we are traveling from another country, we could not contact the hotel, room was paid, we had a travel delay. The receptionist yelled at us and told us that they cannot do anything about it and to leave. They refused our refund. We had to pay an astronomical price to find a last minute hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently. The rooms are clean practical and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. 2 stops on the U-Bahn and you’re in AlexanderPlatz. There are also some lovely restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Would definitely recommend a stay here for a good value, independent hotel

Great little hotel in fantastic location. Close to parks, ships and lots of restaurants. Nice garden area to sit in, shed in the garden to safely store our bikes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean, bright and stylish room. Breakfast was good- cereals, cheese, bread, fruit, yoghurt, scrambled eggs etc. great value for money.
