Extremely rude hotel staff and Soviet/Russian style behavior. We traveled to Berlin to participate in an international event in March 2023, booked 3 rooms at Amadeus Central hotel, and this was the worst experience we have ever had! The rooms were dusty, furnished in old style, the reception area had some chairs but fenced off with tape (no space to wait in case you arrive earlier). However, the main problem was the staff which was extremely rude, inexperienced with poor level of English and not willing to assist with any question you address. We have booked 3 rooms, the payment was withdrawn 3 weeks before arrival. The tariff was non refundable, we agreed with it. One of us three, arrived at the hotel earlier than 2 others. Payment was done with guest #2's card who was going to arrive at the hotel the same evening. The hotel staff didn't let guest #1 check-in, explaining that guests should check-in together with one whose credit card was charged. However, the reception confirmed that the room is booked under his name and payment withdrawn 3 weeks ago. The hotel staff showed a rude attitude, in addition, the hotel manager (or owner)came down and asked our guest to leave the premises. Again the hotel manager was also super rude! This was complete nonsense for us, as there was not any information nor in the booking confirmation, nor on the *********** 's page about special terms of checking in together. Even so, the hotel staff haven't done anything in order to assist, offer alternatives etc. They just kept behaving rude and finally guest #1 had to leave the hotel. (imagine after a long day with flights, the guest had to deal with it + book another hotel for extra charge!). Two of us arrived in the evening, asked the hotel staff to make a refund for the room to which they didn't let the guest#1 check-in. They have asked to send an email to the management. My several emails were just left ignored.
