Modern, clean and very conveniently located. Good value for money. Nice lounge bar. Photo taken from nearby building though.

Close to the railway station. Near to shopping malls and supermarkets. Staff’s helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at Motel One Berlin Upper West. It’s in a great location and I felt safe and comfortable as a solo traveler in this area. It’s very close to the Berlin Zoologischer transit station (where you can get the U bahn, S bahn, the train, the 100 bus & the 200 bus). I loved the modern and contemporary feel of the hotel. My room was small but very nice with comfortable bed & a great shower. The air conditioner was difficult to control but I have found this in most European hotels. I had plenty of sockets to charge my devices. The 10th floor has a good breakfast (salami, ham, cheeses, breads, yogurt, etc.) The views are amazing from the 10th floor. There are lots of places to sit indoors as well as outdoor on the patio. In the evening, the 10th floor is a great bar (known for its gin). All in all my stay was very good and I would stay here again in the future.

I have been your guest for ages but at this time extremely disappointed. When I wanted to walk into the hotel I was stopped by a person standing in front of the hotel with a very unwelcome body language. I asked if I could have a drink at the bar he said No. When I asked the reason he said the bar is full. Well I understand they have some policies but the person had very unwelcome attitude. No smile No hi No other suggestions like come back later or maybe another time …. Well motel one now is a big company and taking their quests for granted. Very Unwelcome Atmosphere ….

I have stayed in many Motel Ones in the past, this one in Berlin was my first time visit. The hotel has excellent location, right in the shopping area of Kudamm. It also has excellent public transport connections, train station, underground and bus station just a minutes walk away. It is easy reachable from Berlin Brandenburg airport- a direct train ride to station Zoological Garten. Don’t forget to validate your train ticket before deprature! Fines are steep. Rooms in Motel One are nice and cosy, very clean and nicely designed, they only lack a coffee/tea machine. The breakfast is wonderful, ful of choices and great quality food, local honey, eggs and jam. Good selection of bread and pastries. Also excellent view from the breakfast lounge. The staff is polite and helpful. I only encountered a problem at the reception. This was a business trip, I was attending ITB tourist fair and made a reservation with an agency that specialises in business travel. When I arrived at the reception in Motel One, the receptionist said I need to pay the room or she won’t let me in the room. I explained that she should talk to the agency that made the reservation. She insisted that I call them myself and arrange the payment. She was very rude and intolerant, though it was not my fault. I paid months before to the agency. At the end I did call them and it turned out the room was already paid but didn’t send a confirmation email and the receptionist made this a huge deal and wanted to bla me as the guest, though the reservation was between the hotel and the agency. This was very rude and a bad welcome on arrival. Otherwise the hotel itself and the location made up for a pleasant stay afterall.

Extremely small room with very little space to manoeuvre. TV on wall becomes an obstacle because the bed is so close. No coffee maker/fridge. Bathroom shower door is clear glass and is in the way. I hit my arm on it and ended up with a huge bruise. Staff was ok. When I pointed out an error in my bill, although I was credited, it came with an eye roll. Breakfast was very good. Breakfast staff were very pleasant. Location is good. Not sure I’d stay again.

Was my first stay with the chain and must surrender it is a nice hipster hotel at the top location. The rooms are clean, with good beds, but rather small. Of course you don’t come to Berlin, to stay in the room, however double occupancy would be already on the edge. Price little steep for what you get - you pay for the location.

First day of a two day trip, 7 months pregnant. At the bar on the 10th floor we had a very busy waiter. 1st round mocktail, he said like three different ones super fast and I took the ginger one 2nd round 1 mocktail please, another mocktail but not the ginger. Mojito he asked, I said yea and thought alcohol free mocktail mojito 3rd round alco free beer Asked my colleague if he thought me 2 really was alcohol free, he thought so but the waiter was very busy as well to ask at that time as the place was busy. Imagine my surprise - the tab was for mojito and I got a bit sad and well upset I just drank alcohol. Then the waiter was quite aggressive in the situation when confronted by a colleague, could basically not even speak as he was barking at me. He was stressed and cornered but the attitude was truly horrible. Paid the tab, it’s not the point, this terrible attitude was rich coming from a young man who just served alkohol to a pregnant paying customer. Would not recommend this bar to anyone who is pregnant, or at least make sure you order in German and not English.
