The Barat Perhentian recensioner

Perfect holiday getaway. Booked the family seafront which was just completed in Apr24. Everything works well as the new unit, cold bottled water and cold room in a heated noon is a real blessing. Rooms are clean and good to have toilet separated from shower room. We use Cosmic Divers as it’s cheaper compared with Barat’s, not to mention additional 10+8% tax! Cosmic allowed us to choose our preferred dive spots and offer pick up/drop off.

Location is good and the food is nice

We went to barat perhentian during the school holidays. Check in was smooth. We arrived early and was given our room once it is ready. The beach in front of barat is not that great, but you can walk 10mins to perhentian island resort beach - the beach there is awesome. White sand, clear blue water and there are some coral & nemo at the end of the beach.

Everything is relative. For perhentian, barat is one of the cleaner hotels around. But for the price I paid during super peak season, one would expect cleaner services. I waited hours for the room to be ready, which I can understand as the night before was fully booked and I arrived before the official check in time. However, when I was finally able to check into my room,, the shampoo packet from the previous guest wasn't picked up and the drain hole still had hair. Towels were also damp. Once we got over this initial disappointment, I was quite happy for the rest of my time there. Room was well equipped with a kettle, hair dryer, fan and super cool air conditioning, the latter was crucial to alleviate the record heat we are experiencing. Location was superb as well. You can go snorkeling at the beach outside the neighboring hotel, where you can see baby sharks hanging around the rocks. I was assured by the staff that momma shark don't hunt there. I guess they are right since I lived to write this review. Those a little braver can swim out to turtle point (life jacket recommended). Every morning, loads of boats arrive here to drop off eager snorkelers hoping to catch a glimpse of turtles. It's nice to have the option to go anytime at your leisure, staying at barat hotel nearby.

The room is nice and clean for the family. The restaurant's cooking is very delicious and reasonable prices. Snorkelling trips are beautiful with corals and crystal-clear water. Should not miss all the snorkelling trips, especially the shark trip and Rawa Island.

Overall, it's a good hotel, and the restaurant is also good. A wonderful place where you can find peace of mind.

Very good experience from start to finish. We came from another hotel and they checked us in early around 11am which allowed us to freshen up and take a snorkelling trip. We booked a standard but were given a much larger room. A/C, Fridge and shower were great. The hotels restaurant was very good and offered a very efficient service. Check out was quick and to get off Perhentian Besar, we got picked up at Barat's own jetty. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here!

Nice enviroment and staffs. Close to beach and nature. You can literally hear the sound of Sunda Flying Lemur. Will coming back surely.

Very nice beach

The staff are very friendly and nice. Love the food there! The BBQ is a must try for dinner. The room is nice and cozy, highly recommended for a short getaway.

There's no mineral water in our room when we check in until the next day then they provide. Water pressure for the shower is unstable. There's tv in the room but no TV channel to watch and if you want to watch movie you have to go to reception to get thumb drive which they downloaded some English movie in there. Food menu there are very limited and meal serving time separate to Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Price of the food is 2 to 3x higher than other restaurants next to it. Wifi signal need to be stronger. Beer selling at RM 10.60 per can. Read Google review, many complaints about food hygiene but thank God we didn't have that problem and also because we not having our 3 meals at the same place, many other resorts restaurants you can go and find out. Location is not the best as it's in between rocky and rough sands Beach. There's 2 to 3 more nicer resorts with beautiful beach next to them, price maybe higher I think it's worth to try. Smoker please remember buy all your cigarettes before going as there's no shop selling cigarettes and if you really need it you got to take a boat to opposite island to buy and all cigarettes selling at RM 19 per pack. And bring own alcohol are highly recommended 😅

The staff very friendly and helpful

В номерах чисто, есть маленький холодильник, фен, чайник, чая, кофе нет. Каждый день приносят воду. Полотенца меняют, но для этого их надо бросить на пол. В последний день, чистые полотенца сильно пахли плесенью. Кондиционер периодически выключается, для включения надо нажать кнопку, в нашем номере кондиционер, плохо охлаждал. В ресторане еда дороже, чем в других кафе и плюс к этому в итоговом счете добавляют еще 18%, поэтому мы ходили есть в соседнее кафе, где очень милый персонал и нормальные цены. Рядом с номером росло манговое дерево и каждый день приходили лангуры поесть. Пляж отеля для купания не очень, в воде много мертвых кораллов. Но до прекрасного пляжа PIR идти минут 5-10. В целом отель неплохой.
