I have stayed in many Radisson’s , regularly in Salzburg in Austria where the hotel is stunning in all aspects . In London I have stayed in the better Radisson’s which are very good and the Radisson Reds , their basic offering in the UK but they are well run . Well unfortunately the one In Biarritz is rated as a good one but should be in the basic “ Red “ range , and it is in serious need of maintenance, and some staff need better people skills . We stayed in the 1st week in June . Some of the checkin staff were to say the least unhelpful!! I must mention one lady , from Belgium, who had just started and she was charming. Anyway the hotel was full , and although it’s right on the sea front this is a BUSINESS HOTEL. I don’t know how many different companies were using the hotel during our stay . It made breakfast, very noisy and not enjoyable when you have a couple of hundred conference attendees eating breakfast before their meetings started . The main hotel Restaurant was closed every day for lunch and supper , no explanation and we had to find this out ourselves. Back to the room , ours was on the 3 rd floor , and a “ Superior Room “ . Getting out of the lift was a smell of fresh paint and new carpet, which was encouraging. Unfortunately our room , with a glimpse of the sea was very tired . I think some paint had been splashed around …. But very disappointed. The bathroom was very poor . The bath was so old and damage that they had actually tried to paint the bath , inside , and this was now peeling off . Water ran very slowly down the drain too . The extraction vent in the ceiling was dirty and looked as if it was about to fall off !!! I did complain but was told the hotel was full due to conferences and nothing could be done !!!! The fridge in the bedroom was switched on , but empty, with a very odd notice saying anything used or moved in the fridge had to be paid for ??? There was a roof top bar and restaurant which we ate in the first night as we were tired . Food and staff ok but as we later discovered the prices were very expensive compared to good restaurants in the town . There is a roof top pool , which I have to say was the best part of the hotel . Unfortunately one night we went up to the rooftop bar only to be told it’s closed ….. yep due to a conference!!! We absolutely loved Biarritz, and luckily the town is full of great restaurants and cafes , so we always ate out …. We loved it’s so much we are going back in September, but definitely not staying at the Radisson…… booked into a really lovely hotel … not a conference in sight!!!
