Hotel de Silhouette

After a very bad experience with a higher-rated “four-star” hotel elsewhere in town, our escape to Hotel de Silhouette was literally a breath of fresh air. This hotel was well decorated and maintained, clean, spacious and luxurious (all things that are seemingly a rarity in the Biarritz city center). There was onsite valet parking, fast wireless internet, and a decent sized dining area. For a small fee, we were allowed to upgrade to a larger room (despite only having booked the morning of our stay on a travel website). I think the thing that stands out most about this hotel (besides the comfort and quality of the accommodations) is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Their warmth, attentiveness and generosity was absolutely appreciated and consistent with the experience of a true four/five-star hotel.

Charming hotel in the heart of the city! Excellent location and close to everything. 15 min by taxi from the train station, 1/2h walk to the bus station, 5 min walk to the beach . Very friendly staff (especially Kati), great room service, clean room, comfortable beds and nice bedding and fluffy towels. The only negative is that our window was right outside of the garden patio and ppl would stay and talk loud (late in the eve) and smoke would fill the room, I would pref to have my windows open when it’s nice and breezy outside. Overall beautiful property that we highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stopover in Biarritz, and Hotel Silhouette is in an ideal location, with secure on-site parking. The room was spacious, and spotless, with nice balcony overlooking the town. The staff were lovely and thanks again to the cleaners who found my wife’s Kindle before we were out of town.

After making a booking, we contacted the hotel several times with questions about room amenities and nearby restaurants and attractions. We always received a prompt, friendly response. Located only 20 minutes from the airport, this discreet hotel is right in the heart of town near loads of shops, bars restaurants and the local market and a short stroll to the beach and great view points. A warm welcome and a speedy checkin. A modern, clean, and quirky hotel with top-notch gadgets from a dyson hairdryer, smeg kettle, marshall speakers, and Ortigia toiletries. Beautiful gardens and friendly helpful staff who always welcomed you home. A faultless stay and a definite first choice for a return trip.

A terrific stay at a charming boutique hotel in the heart of Biarritz. Everything about this stay was lovely, from the location (close to the Marché de Biarritz and a quick walk to the walking path along the cliffs) to the welcoming and helpful staff to lunch at the tree-shaded courtyard restaurant where the food was delicious. The room was a comfortable size with a large walk-in shower and a separate water closet. Large windows that open and let in the sea breeze made the temperature comfortable during our summer stay. The bed was comfortable and the linens were high quality and everything in the room was very clean. I must point out and commend the management and staff for one of the most amazing bits of customer service that I have ever experienced at a hotel. A bit of a long story, but it involved a package that I mailed at La Poste containing my shopping treasures while visiting Biarritz. The package was addressed to my non-France home address but was returned to the hotel address long after I had departed the hotel and France. Not only did the staff collect the package and let me know what had happened, they offered to send a staff member back to La Poste to repackage and re-mail the package to me. As a very frequent traveler who has traveled to over 90 countries, I have a lot of experience with hotels and customer service (or a lack of customer service), and I have to say that I was blown away by this display of customer care, and for a customer who was already gone from the property. The saga continued with the second mailing being returned to the hotel, and once again, they graciously assisted me with receiving the package and holding it in their office until a friend could come and pick it up in person. I cannot thank them enough for this great kindness and courtesy that they displayed and I cannot recommend them highly enough. You will be well taken care of by the staff of this hotel. They are simply outstanding, and I do not normally use those words for a hotel stay. Thank you, Hotel de Silhouette! You have a huge fan, and I will be planning another trip to Biarritz soon and I know exactly where I will stay.

We had dinner in the restaurant, my wife ordered the octopus, unfortunately it arrived with a hair in it. While that can happen anywhere, we did ask politely if it could be changed. The second dish arrived as a smaller dish and was cold. We sent it back for a second attempt. While the setting is lovely. I really couldn’t recommend this restaurant knowing that they just took the previous dish and put it on a new plate. This is what I told the waitress and her reaction was ‘I know, I did tell the chef’.
