Premier Inn Birmingham City (Waterloo St)

The location was excellent, and checking in was smooth. The room, however, was quite small, with a window facing a wall, but that was understandable. That said, there were a few issues that were rather unpleasant: 1. Constant sharp noise from the neighbouring shower Throughout both nights, there was a persistent, sharp noise coming from the shower in the next room. It was very random, turning on and off, and lasted for several minutes at a time. The sound sounded like screaming from the shower room or potentially the boiler, and it woke both of us up multiple times leading to some very bad sleeps. 2. No cleaning service Firstly, upon arrival, there was only one small towel for the two of us and black ink stain on the sheets. Second day for cleaning, we understood that we needed to speak to reception to have the room cleaned, so we did this the following morning. We specifically asked for new towels, left the appropriate label on the door, and even spoke directly with the receptionist, who took note of our request and assured us it would be handled. However, when we returned for shower 10pm that evening, no towels had been changed. We had to put our clothes back on and go downstairs to request fresh towels in person. 3. Check-out time confusion According to trip.com, check-out was at 14:00. However, our room key expired at 12:30, and the receptionist informed us that check-out was at 12:00. When we showed our booking confirmation from trip.com, we were told that the information on third-party platforms doesn’t align with the hotel’s policy. 4. Price discrepancy When we booked via trip.com, we later realised it was £10 more expensive than booking directly through the Premier Inn website. While we didn’t bother to cancel the booking at the time, it’s worth mentioning for future guests—always compare prices on different platforms.

Great hotel clean place staff are great

Nehemiah was just amazing!! Literally so kind and helpful, they’re definitely a keeper!!! They helped me and my partner book a stay at the hotel and even helped me out with any queries I had or any additions I wanted for the room! Truly a star, I admire their patience with me:)

We enjoyed this hotel very much! I was with my wife and 9 years-old daughter, and everything was special. They gave us an easter egg during our stay, and the staff was always helpful and kind to us. The room is spacious, silent and cozy, and the mattress is fantastic. Hotel's location is perfect for accessing most of the attractions in Birmingham, and also near the two main train stations. Premier Inn is a very convenient hotel in the UK, and I would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed in many Premier Inns amd never had the need to complain, however this stayed changed that. On arriving for pre-paid breakfast the morning after we checked in, we were told they had no details, not a problem. However it turned into a bigger problem when the hotel then denied our existence, had no record of us staying there, although I had the room card and had left the room 5 minutes before. I then had to spend 45 minutes locating proof of my booking, being followed to our room to prove that we were staying there. The restaurant could not apologise enough, for our embarrassment, as by now everyone was aware of the situation with me having to find proof! How many policies and procedures had been broken here, more to the point, if there had been an emergency we would have been left to burn in our beds, as the room was 'vacant' in their eyes. So far Guest Relations have been full of words, but not much action

Stayed here for a gig as I always do for gigs in Birmingham. The room itself is the same standard as you would expect for premier inn I.e the bed, wardrobe area and desk/coffee making station. No complaints with the facilities in the room but cleanliness on the other hand..different story. I went to have a shower and there was hair (both head and body) still in the bath tub and on the walls, obviously left from the previous people who stayed in the room. We stayed for two nights so for over £260 you would expect your room/bathroom to at least be clean. We had a busy couple of days whilst staying so didn’t bother going down to reception to raise concerns as we both just wanted to shower and get into bed. I then got into bed and had to essentially remake it as the bottom sheet wasn’t put on properly. I’m not usually one to complain but some housekeepers need a refresh/reminder I think on how to clean…
