We were travelling as two couples and booked two rooms. Checked in and when we went to our rooms one was not made up, mattress was bare with linens on a chair. They were moved promptly but it meant we weren't near each other anymore. We understand the hotel is old but both the sink and toilet is stained from rust and age and need to be replaced. The bathroom drain was also full of clumps of dirt and needs to be cleaned. Bed and pillows were great, room was large and comfortable and everything else great. But we are in the mountains and it gets very cold, as the floors are timber you need to have a rug underneath all the beds.

Really nice stay, in very quiet part of blue mountains. Blaq dinner was nice . Plenty of on premises parking and daily room service is also nice

Here's an improved version: "Our experience was quite disappointing. We stayed for only one night, but were charged for two a month later. Initially, when I inquired about extending our stay, there was no issue. However, when I tried to contact them about the overcharge, they did not respond and later refused to issue a refund. It's a shame that such practices exist. Think twice before booking with them."

Renovated interior with a chic look, however the toilet was pretty dark. Could do with better lightings.

We had the absolute best time at Kyah! It’s such a beautiful spot, perfectly located near some of the most stunning hiking trails in the Blue Mountains. We felt right at home, and their restaurant, Blaq, was honestly one of the best we’ve visited in Australia—10/10, an absolute dream. We’re already planning our return!

Originally a 2 night booking as part of a group of 16 however, a month beforehand were advised could only stay 1 night "due to renovations". Our group accepted this in good faith. However, it was obvious when we arrived that we had been misled and booted over a Conference booking! How come "the renovations " would not affect the Conference which was going to be there for 5 days ?? But we couldnt be accommodated for 1 more night?? Also as we had stayed last year and had a fabulous Banquet Dinner and we had rebooked that, but it was a big disappointment for all our Group as food quantity was extremely small to share amongst 16 people. The breakfast the next morning was yet another disappointment compared to last year. The Manager now advises the breakfast was "pared back"....this is an understatement as it was totally "stripped back" so don't believe what you see on their website. Reality is it was one choice of cereal, no milk unless you request, white, brown bread for toast, stale croissants and pastries, some apples or oranges. If you want tea/coffe you have to go up 2 flights of stairs to make it yourself and carry a hot paper cup full of tea/coffee down to dining room. Certainly an OHS problem. I sincerely hope they get their act together as this was a very good hotel, but cannot recommend it at present given the deception and quality of dinner and breakfast.

Very disappointed with our stay here this time. The continental breakfast was dismal. Very ordinary bread for toasting. VERY stale croissants that could have help save it. At least there was cereal, whole fruit and yoghurt. No juice. We had eaten dinner there before and enjoyed it but were disappointed with the offering this trip. Lighting was very dim in the bar as well as the room. We couldn't read the wine list without putting it directly under a light. For our second night, we moved onto another accommodation in the area and were much happier.

We rebooked as a group, having experienced a wonderful stay in 2024. Our experience in 2025 was a Great Disappointment. We will not return. Our booking was reduced from two nights to one night only on the pretense that the hotel was closing for renovations. Talking with guests at breakfast before we departed, it was clear they were staying that night as part of a conference, yet we were led to believe it was closing for renovations. Driving past later that day and the next day, it was apparent the hotel was operating as usual. Clearly we were booted in favour of a larger more profitable booking Management should have told us the truth, no some shallow story It was disappointing that management continued the deception, as when challenged as to what renovation work was to happen that day, they answered, it is all a secret, which is just not good enough How could you ever trust a management team that behaves so badly, shame on them.

Lovely hotel with some very strange twists. Having eaten at Blaq in the past we thought we would stay here for three nights whilst attending the Blackheath Chamber Music Festival. On arrival, there seemed to be no reception desk. A staff member eventually attended to me from a small table in the foyer. As your accommodation is pre-paid, you simple receive an entry code to your room which you MUST remember to gain access. During our 3 day stay, our room wasn’t serviced once. Apparently you must put out the service sign on your door prior to a deadline each day or there’s no service. This is quite different from our normal expectations. Also, we tried for two days to turn on the cold tap in the bathroom basin(only water supply apart from the shower) only to eventually find it is installed to turn on to the right (opposite to expectations). Similarly for the shower although that has an arrow to alert you! One can’t charge any costs to your room, having to pay on the spot for drinks etc. so instead of checking out, you just leave! An interesting but very comfortable hotel with a great bar and staff. Nice gardens and hot tub. On reflection, we might return.

This modern hotel is more like a motel than a hotel. The rooms are good and there are some nice facilities- tennis court, hot tub, sauna. However there are some very disappointing aspects. The breakfast that is included is minimal. You have to pay extra for coffee except instant and for orange juice. No fresh fruit. I’ve never stayed in a hotel including those with fewer stars where the breakfast was so disappointing. Then cocktails- good but no nuts, olives, nibbles or anything else even to buy. Dinner- good food but minute portions. A starter cheese tart was little bigger than a medallion. All in all it seemed mean to me.

To be clear, the group I represent never got the chance to stay at the hotel as the management cancelled our booking…… Our group of 10–11 golfers booked accommodation well in advance for a two-night stay from 30 April to 2 May 2025, only to have all our reservations abruptly cancelled by the hotel in favour of a larger group. Despite securing our bookings individually following direct confirmation of availability in January, we were informed on 18 February that the hotel had unilaterally chosen to accommodate another group that wanted to extend their stay. This has left us scrambling to make alternative arrangements, causing significant inconvenience to our group. What makes this even worse is the complete lack of professionalism in how the situation was handled. The hotel initially failed to communicate in writing despite assurances that alternative options would be provided. It was only when I followed up a second time that I finally got a reply which confirmed the decision to cancel our reservation, was a commercial one. The alternative options did little to renew our confidence in the hotel given their stance on prioritising corporate bookings. This level of disregard for confirmed guests is unacceptable and reflects poorly not only on Kyah but also on its reputation within the local tourism and golf community. I have spoken with Blackheath Golf Club and cancelled our planned rounds. We are now looking to book elsewhere. If reliability, ethical service, and professional conduct matter to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation in the area.

A fabulous hotel in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Conveniently located to base yourself as a kick off point for exploring the area. Evan’s lookout is just down the road. You can look at the view or start a hike down into the Grand Canyon which will take you a 3-4 hours. The hotel itself has recently been refurbished. It has two floors, ground and first. Parking near your room is convenient. No lugging suitcases miles. You can see from the pictures a contemporary style has been adopted. There is a restaurant that is open Wednesday to Sunday. When the restaurant is not open try Thai Silk for supper. All staff super friendly. The check-in process uses the GOKI app which took some getting used to but worked well once we got the hang of it. We thought the room rate represented great value. We liked the hotel so much so we stayed an extra night.
