The Swan Hotel

Good position between Bletchley & Milton Keynes. Convenient to visit Bletchley Park. Situated above a public house & I suggest you request a high, rear room if you want quiet away from the traffic noise at the front. The bedroom was adequate with Tea & Coffee supplied. Everywhere was clean. The bed was comfortable and a simple breakfast was included. The car park at the rear is a definite plus. There are several restaurants nearby.

First of all - I did not stay here, I just popped in for a drink. Super friendly land lady let me try a beer that I was unfamiliar with. It was rather nice. The pub / hotel is unremarkable. People were pleasant and welcoming. Nothing particularly good or bad about the place.

The location of the hotel was ideal for me, located not far from the Grand Union canal, for walks into the countryside, and right in the middle of Fanny Stratford, for pubs and restaurants. There is also a regular bus service to Milton Keynes Central. This establishment caters largely for contractors and as such the rooms are very small and basic. No frills springs to mind. All of the rooms have twin beds and no doubles, presumably for contractors to share rooms and costs. Breakfast is served strictly between 7am to 8am downstairs in the bar. (8am to 9am Sunday). Checkout is 10am. My check-in was admittedly quite chaotic. I was given the keys to my room by a friendly and welcoming member of staff. But when I asked to pay for my room she told me to see the owner later in the evening. He failed to show and the person who eventually took my payment did so quite dourly. Entrance to my room was through the bar serving area and up two flights of stairs. The price was a very reasonable £59. The room had formica type furniture, two twin beds, a fan, a small desk & chair, kettle, plenty of tea and coffee, towels and one bar of soap. The bathroom had a small shower, toilet and basin. All very clean and worthy of the price. The free WiFi was good too and I experienced no problems at all with the signal. Breakfast was cooked to order by a very friendly lady. In fact this was the highlight of my stay.

Mick and the team really saved the day, our previously booked accommodation down the road had let us down and we were in town for a festival, with no where to put our bags we thought that was the end of the night, Mick kindly let us store our bags at the hotel so we could still make the festival. Would highly recommend and next time we're in town we'll be sure to swing by.

Nice and quiet accommodation above a pub in Milton Keynes. The owner was very friendly and helpful. You can ask them to call you a cab to take you to Bletchley park and it is about a 30 minute walk to the Bletchley train station and a little bit farther to the park. Breakfast is average.

This is a basic overnight place to stay, likely frequented by contractors rather than holidaymakers. You get to the rooms by going behind the bar and up the stairs. The pub isn't a cosy 'classic' pub; it's rather bare with lino floors, and a TV sports channel showing. That's where you have breakfast. The couple serving breakfast are friendly and chatty and the breakfast filling. The room was rather too hot so I didn't sleep well - though better than being too cold! The surrounding area is not at all scenic so this isn't going to offer classic English scenery or ambience!
