The location and setting of Liedjiesbos B&B is second to none - this will be the only place I stay at when staying in Bloemfontein! What a pleasure to relax in the wonderful gardens and enjoy sundowners with only the tranquil sounds of birds and water in the background. Whilst we enjoyed platter of cheeses, pickles and meats, I personally would have preferred to have been able to order from a limited menu. Our accommodation was in the Plum cottage and had everything and more we needed. The cozy fireplace must be a delight in winter; however, it does make the place smell rather smokey - maybe an air diffuser or two in the room will solve that problem. All in all, a very pleasurable stay and would gladly recommend Liedjiesbos to other travelers

I was part of a team of lawyers who spent a night at Liedjiesbos on my recommendation. (The SCA is an easy 15-20 minute drive,) The whole estate is exceptional and by far and away the best option in Bloem (and I have stayed practically everywhere else there). This must also be one of the most superb guesthouses in the country, architectutally speaking. Beautiful, indigenous gardens, outdoor and indoor art, olive, deciduous and fig tree groves, succulents, grasses and natural l swimming pool, magnificent open plan interiors, organic and stylish fabrics and textures, antiques in various woods ... the whole place is just delightful in excellent taste without pretension in any way. Great care has been taken, and expense incurred. The main rooms seemed slightly more luxurious than the cottages - which were also lovely. Service discreet and efficient. Breakfasts interesting and not too huge in portions. Organic veggies and herbs. We did not try the meze platter for dinner but should have. Bed linen and mattress quality very good. Towels could be larger and fluffier, and bathroom sink in Olive needs to be lowered. But these are mere quibbles. Highly recommended!

Wow! What an exceptional experience! From the inspiring garden to the perfectly appointed room and delicious eats, everything was truly top notch. Our host went out of his way to accommodate us and we got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. I can recommend Liedjiesbos without any reservations.

WOW!!! We were referred to Liedjiesbos and thus our expectations were high - but Liedjiesbos exceeded our expectations in every aspect. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt at home. The place itself (gardens, accommodation, restaurant, etc.) lends itself to a resulting atmosphere whilst the hospitality from everyone was excellent. Not forgetting the food - quality, taste, presentation out of this world. We've been to some 5*star hotels in SA and Liedjiesbos is right up there in every respect.
