CASA MARE HOTEL

We were unfortunate to book directly 3 rooms for 11 nights at this so called “boutique hotel”!! As it shouldn’t be rated more than 2 star motel or even not rated at all. We ended up checking out after 3 hours from arrival and the so called “boutique hotel” charged us 50% of the whole stay!!! and that happened after a very very long argument with the receptionist, his manager and their boss. So don’t be fooled by the pictures posted on their website and other internet media for the following reasons: 1-There were no enough car parking space as you have to park your car in a pass lane. 2-The common areas i.e the lobby, aren’t air conditioned and when you get out of room you have to walk through hot corridors. 3-The staff weren’t wearing uniform, so you can’t differentiate between guests and staff. 4-Rooms are not as spacious as they were shown on the internet. 5-Rooms’ air condition are not efficient enough to handle Bodrum summer heat. And they turn off when you leave the room. 6-The only OLD elevator was out of order, and it seems that it wasn’t working for a long period of time. I saw old people struggling on their way up or down the stairs. 7- Stains on bed sheets and walls. 8- No hot water in shower. 9-No direct access to the beach as you have to walk to pass through the neighbor hotel. 10-You’ll not get another room key even if two or three people are occupying the room. Therefore, you can’t keep the air conditioning running to come back to a sufficiently cool room; as the one card is needed to keep electricity on. The only positive thing is that rooms’ views are good, but, in my opinion that is certainly not enough to stay here.

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my partner. We had a very enjoyable week. I’d highly recommend upgrading for the sea view if you can it absolutely made our stay. We spent the evenings on the balcony watching the boats and enjoying the cringey music from a neighbour hotel. Of course this is not the hotels fault but some nights the neighbours hotel music was loud and went on late. The hotel itself music wise, I’m not quite sure if they where going for a party like vibe around the pool. It was a little odd some times they would start really blasting music. I feel like if they where after a party atmosphere I would suggest advertising this a bit more as I think like us most guests where trying to chill out. The other thing about this hotel is the hills to get to the hotel. The first couple of nights we thought it was okay we was burning off the Turkish delight but after the third night the climb up was starting to drain us. I definitely suggest bringing sensible shoes I witnessed some lovely looking but unpractical shoes. Overall the staff are really lovely and happy to help if needed. The breakfast is basic but does the job lots of bread and fruit. The pool is really nice and cooling on a hot day. I think the hotel is a really lovely not overpriced stay. I got the feeling they are still doing work to the hotel so I think it will be really lovely once it’s done. There is a small little shop down the hill from the hotel where you can get cheap bottles of water and alcohol too. Also the rooms are really clean.

Cleaner stole jewellery, which upon reporting she returned it claiming to have “found it in the hotel trash bin”. This caused unnecessary stress and massively tainted our experience of the hotel. Left very disappointed. Also, having paid extra for the seaview room we didn’t get it. After complaining we only received the correct room a day later. More unnecessary stress, packing unpacking etc. The main positive is the view, this is the only reason I would stay at the hotel. There’s also a boat taxi (£2) that takes you straight into the centre of town which was the other good perk.

We arrived after midnight because of a plane delay and the staff was waiting for us and made us feel very welcome! Beautiful views, even at night! Room was clean and comfortable the pool is great. So happy we picked this hotel!

I booked a full sea view room but was given a partial sea view room. Upon complaining the management stated that they will ‘try’ to accommodate us tomorrow which never happened.
