Scandic Bollnäs

It took them 1,5 hours to give us a table and dinner (3 burgers), while some tables were empty. They forgot one of the burgers and did not provide any alternative solution for dinner. There are several places to eat nearby at the same rate or cheaper. The only excuse given was that they were short of personnel, but we were part of a larger group that had booked weeks ahead.

I am truly amazed by this hotel in Bollnäs. Coming back in a few weeks. (Went with 2 young kids and they loved the stay)

The only negative from this vaccation was the food at the hotel. There was no vego alternative at the restaurang in the evening. There was no vegosandwiches to buy in the reception in the evening.

It’s a standard Scandic with nice view over the nearby river. The room was a standard scandic aswell as the breakfast. Parking is free and just outside. The price was very high for the night I stayed and far from aligned with the location and standard.

No the best experience in total, but I guess there is not too much choice around town. Staff seemed to be busy and there was not too much friendliness. Elevators were broken and there was no warm water in the evening or morning so could not get a shower. Apparently it was a wider problem but there should have been a notice somewhere! Good thing I skipped the excercise. Whole building is starting to look a little outdated. No refund or compensation was offered either for all the incovenience.

I had the great pleasure of staying at the Scandic Bollnäs hotel for one night during the weekend in August this summer on a business trip to the fine city of Bollnäs in the beautiful state of Hälsingland. Would consider this to be the best choice in regard to location, standard, comfort, price and total satisfaction/value for money. It is the largest and recently refurbished and best hotel in town. 
The location is central and downtown, although on the outskirts of the city centre, and it's a good 10-15 min walk from the train/bus station. There is a residential block with apartment buildings on one side of the property and the lake is on the other. Nice green fields on the grounds with a small pier near by the lake, perfect for bathing/swimming/sunbathing, as well as a nice long walking path that goes all round the lake. The only disappointments were that there was no A/C and it therefore got very hot in the room. No Chromecast, unable to connect to my own brought from home Chromecast device b/c of WiFi config/firewall. Also, some standard Nordic TV-channels with "no signal". An over-crowded breakfast buffet resulted in it running out of several breakfast food items.
