The Editory Artist Baixa Porto Hotel

Lovely Hotel in a quiet location but close to the city centre. The staff were wonderful complimentary port on arrival. The receptionist was extremely helpful showing us where to go what to see. Got back to hotel first evening and was surprised with a complimentary glass of wine to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The room was large with comfortable bed with tea and coffee facilities (got milk on last day!) The bathroom was very large with a bath and shower over head. Only downside was that when you used the shower it flooded the floor in the bathroom due to the position of the shower head. All in all definitely visit again.

The staff were lovely and welcoming, were always there to answer any questions and give local recommendations. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. And the hotel itself is in a great location, near to good shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Hotel is very clean but had a smell in the common hallway. The room got really hot, had to completely turned off the fan unit and opened the windows. Hotel staff was very helpful to where the recommended attractions to go to. What restaurants and what type of local food they had at the different restaurants. Great to have bottle water provided each day.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful upon arrival , the room was very spacious and very clean. The hotels location was perfect and only a 5-10 minute walk from some of the main sights to see in Porto. The food at breakfast was of a good quality just needed some more variety and a better coffee machine, apart from that the buffet was always fresh and very well tidied. Tables at breakfast were always cleaned away and waiters were on point with cleanliness. The only issue was at evening when we wanted a drink the bar was unattended 90% of the time so had to find someone to serve us which took a while to do so. Apart from this the stay was amazing and we would 100% return again for another holiday to Porto.

We had initially booked to stay at The Editory Garden Hotel next door but were upgraded to a room at the adjoining Editory Artist due to an issue with our room at the first hotel. On check-in we received a glass of port and a pastel de nata each, a lovely treat! All the staff we spoke with were lovely, so welcoming and helpful. We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel but we were pleased to learn that the courtyard advertised at The Editory Gardens was where breakfast was served, a lovely quiet area to hide away from the biz of the city. We enjoyed a complimentary port here on our last evening. The location of the hotel suited us fine. Although on the outskirts of the city centre, you could be on Rue Santa Caterina within around 5-10 minutes where there are lots of shops and cafes. The hotel itself is in a much quieter, local part of the city but it meant there was no street noise and we slept well. We used Uber one evening to return to the hotel after dinner as the hotel is up quite a steep hill and the cobbled streets get slippery if it has rained - take good walking trainers in case of rain! Our room was really spacious and fitted with all the commodities we needed, there were just a few maintenance issues which gave it more of a 4 star feel than 5 star. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto, we had a great time and would certainly come back.

Just a short stay, would have loved it to have been longer. Beautiful hotel and friendly accommodating staff. Room was stunning and exceptionally clean. Very knowledgeable staff regarding the food, wine and local area.
