Happy's Homestay

I am not sure what the hype is all about. Reviews say that the host was great. In fact, the host (Marcus) did not even have the courtesy to check on us as we arrived on Christmas eve. No welcome, no greeting, nothing. The communication before the payment was fine. Once the full amount was paid, nothing at all. I even expressed my dissatisfaction over a service I was asked to pay for in advance, but instead of an apology, the delay in the service (Boodle Fight) was being justified. We requested for it at 12 pm and got stone cold food at 2 pm. Terrible reception and professionalism by Marcus.. The villa itself was falling apart. All FF&E were in poor condition. Delicate and scary to use as it may just fall apart, like faucets, leaking pipes. Every morning, we had no water. My brother-in-law had to call the care taker and go and fix the the pipe outside the villa that supplied water. I am sure Marcus did not even want to know about this. I wanted to take pictures of all that, but I am sure Marcus is already aware. The only best part of this stay was the location. Very serene and calm, not counting the stormy wind. The caretaker, Analyn and her husband were nice. They helped with what they could. The family room upstairs was still in better condition than the double room downstairs which was in terrible condition.
