Meininger Hotel Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean

Fabulous experience at this Bordeaux hotel. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Superbly friendly staff. About 40 mins walk, 5 min tram to center of city. Area surrounding hotel a bit rough. Perfect environment for students travelling on a budget.

Lovely and friendly staff , nice and clean rooms , breakfast ok , the location was great . Parking down the road that we paid via an app , we also hired scooters to get around and to get into the city centre . We would stay agin if ever in Bordeaux . Rooms are small but functional in our opinion .

We don’t stay in hotels a lot these days as with kids it’s often easier to have something more self-contained and self-catering including airbnbs. This worked well though. Number one, we could have the kids in the room as there were bunk beds, with our two singles (pushed together as double/king) in the middle of the room. Size pretty standard for a budget hotel. Reviews are difficult because it’s all relative to your experiences and expectations but for value for money and a feeling of decent quality and cleanliness, this was very good. Yes, the room was not perhaps super fresh, but it had a clean and safe feeling. We didn’t use the shared kitchen but if you wanted to, you could use the microwave, hobs, ovens, kettles etc that is next to the bar area, plus there’s a nice enough seating area outside or inside to consume. Main bonus over Airbnb is the very nice reception staff who were very helpful and patient, with good English. Location is near the main station, and main stations in big cities tend to be a bit mixed (if you’re from a big city I’m sure you’ll know what I mean) but the area didn’t feel unsafe, just a bit rough. Having said that, at time of writing (July 24) part of the problem is the amount of development taking place e.g. new buildings going up and road works between you and the station. Also, trams were off when we were there, but you could walk to lovely parts of the town from 15 minutes, to 35 minutes depending which part you were heading to. Also, decent dining round the corner going away from the station (though food court closed on Mondays apparently so we didn't go there). Overall, very happy with our 2-night stay and an extra thumbs up to the reception staff. Worth mentioning that there's no parking or subsidised parking so you pay full price for the underground carparks in the vicinity - between 25 and 30 Euros per 24 hours.

One of the best kept secrets in Bordeaux. This is a fabulous place with wonderful facilities and a great espirit de Corps among the staff. We had a magnificent stay in this place fitted out to make your life easy. Yanick is a true Ambassador for the Meininger Group and with his colleagues are absolutely brilliant , a credit to the system and the brand of the hotel . The room ,the attitude the attention to detail and even capacity to microwave food is true hospitality. You are welcomed here with kindness , dignity , great advice and with respect. Thank you

Nice hotel with nice lobby. Just 15 minutes away from Bordeaux Station, 5 minutes away from supermarket. Friendly staffs. They let me check in an hour earlier with no charge. Guest kitchen space with complete kitchen set is a bliss. Bed was comfy .

We loved this hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Ample charging ports - USB so no need to bring travel adaptors. Great buffet breakfast. Staff very helpful. Fabulous family atmosphere in the place and it's pet friendly too. There is also a kitchen and dining area where you can prepare and eat your own food. Nice bar as well which serves delicious pizza in the evening.

New family friendly hotel with spacious rooms. About 30 mins walking to the city center., 10 mins walking from the train station. Hotel is located on a side road and is a bit hard to find - more signage would help. There's a lot of renovation in the area, with all old shady discoteques being replaced with the shiny new buildings, so there is a lot of construction and roadworks at the moment, but I am sure it will be beautiful very soon. There is a new parking garage built across the road for 20 eur/24h. A nice food court across the road as well and a small grocery store. There is a large supermarket just on the other side of the railtracks. Hotel has a huge guest kitchen downstairs with fridges, stove, oven, washing machines and all the kinds of pots/pans/plates and cutlery you need and a nice seating area in the garden, so you can cook your own dinner and eat it alfresco with a bottle of wine, or order pizza and drinks in the hotel bar.

Meilleur Rapport Qualité / Prix ! QUAND C'EST LE MEILLEUR MOMENT !... (Pour ce qui me concerne, entre 55 et 65 €, Je Réserve ! Entre 66 et 120 €, JE NE RESERVE PAS !...) Je Ne Connaissais Pas Les Hôtels MEININGER (4 en France, en 2024, je Crois...). Donc, je viens de Connaitre l'Hôtel MEININGER Bordeaux Saint Jean. Ce Type d'Hôtel, me Fait, Directement, Penser, avec la Même Philosophie, que, Celle de THE PEOPLE HOSTEL (Je Connais, Celui de Tours). Genre ; Auberge Privée, de Jeunesse et Adultes. Au Départ, Les Hôtels MEININGER, Chaîne Orientée, vers Les Familles, mais, essaie, de s'ouvrir, un Peu, vers les Hommes et Femmes d'Affaires !... Nouvelle Génération, avec Plus d'Offres !... Un Peu Plus de Confort, Un Peu Plus de Chambres, Parfaitement, Insonorisées. Il peut Rester, des Petits Dortoirs, avec Lits Superposés. Offre de Partie Communautaire ; Avec Chill Room, Wash Room, Kitchen, etc, Le Langage Arboré, à la Mode !... Comme pour THE PEOPLE HOSTEL ! Plus, Un Côté, Café Bar, Détente, avec Billard, Baby Foot, Jeu de Fléchettes, etc,... Une Grande Salle de Petit Déjeuner, avec Grand Buffet. Mais, ATTENTION, Pas de Restaurant ! Au Bar, et à la Réception, Vente d'un Peu de Produits Snack et Cookies, Fruits et Cannelés Bordelais. Pour le Bar, Le Soir, et dans la Journée, ATTENTION, aux Horaires, car, Moments de Fermeture, ou Vers, 19H45 / 20H15, ou 20H00 / 20H30, Pause Dîner de la Personne Responsable du Moment du Bar (Elle est Seule...). Donc, Si vous voulez Profiter, de la Petite Partie Snack, pour Dîner, sur Place, méfiez-vous de Ces Horaires Là !... C'est Pas Mal !... Mais, je Regarde, surtout, le Rapport Prix/Qualité, pour Réserver la Chambre, quand c'est le Plus Intéressant. Voilà !

Dans une rue calme, esprit industriel Chambre familiale spacieuse lit superposés pour les enfants Wc et salle de bain separer c est un plus Literies très bien Petit déjeuner copieux avec beaucoup de choix Qualité de l accueil ++ le personnel s intéresse aux clients Rapport qualité prix ++
