Kasbah Tizzarouine

A very nicely designed hotel with a beautiful swimming pool area. The rooms are furnished and decorated in a stylish but understated Moroccan tradition. The staff are kind, welcoming and helpful (as so often in Morocco). My quibbles are small but occasionally discomforting, and in a good hotel, one would not expect these inconveniences. 1. No water glasses in the rooms, not even tooth mugs. 2. The air-conditioning was either broken or deliberately fixed at 24 degrees - not very cool, and quite muggy in an enclosed space. 3. There was no internet anywhere save at reception. If you are in need of space, comfort and service, I recommend this Kasbah. If you want internet 24/7, go elsewhere.

Sub-standard Reception: slow, arrogant, cheeky, dishonest. Double room: four beds, a socket (10 cm above the upholstery), no box and no other furnishings. Smell of milder and drain! Bathroom: disgusting smell, taps hardly operable, no hot water. Dinner and breakfast: unimaginative and boring, staff prepotent and disinterested!. Sub-Standard Rezeption: langsam, überheblich, frech, unehrlich. Doppelzimmer: vier Betten, eine Steckdose (10 cm über dem Polster), kein Kasten und auch keine weitere Einrichtung. Geruch nach Moder und Abfluss! Bad: abscheulicher Geruch, Wasserhähne kaum bedienbar, kein Warmwasser. Abendessen und Frühstück: einfallslos und langweilig, Personal präpotent und desinteressiert!.

I stayed in a Cave room at this hotel on May 14th as part of a group tour. The room was tiny, the bed was so narrow that I could not turn, there was no fan or air conditioner and very little ventilation (a small window built into the door). We were told it would get cooler at night but this did not help in the heat of the day . The sides of the door were see through so there was no privacy. A tapestry was provided but when it was drawn any fresh air from the door opening was blocked. The rooms are claimed to be soundproofed - they are not. We could hear people talking from the poolside at the upper level. There was also no private balcony as claimed just an open verandah shared by all the rooms on that level. The room was not particularly clean. The bathroom shower sprayed water everywhere except in the shower area. The flush had to be worked at least twice to be effective. The restaurant staff were polite and helpful Overall not a good experience.

We stayed for one night as part of a tour, we were a little apprehensive given previous comments but we were pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable and the shower decent. The view off the cliff was very nice, contrast of mountains and lush green art below. We walked down the hill approx 800m-1km and ate hour in a rooftop restaurant but I understand evening buffet was available at the hotel. Breakfast was ‘OK’ and in a buffet spread, it filled me up and consisted mainly of bread / cereal and cake. For me the location and view was the best part of the stay and for this I would say I enjoyed the stay.

We stayed in Kasbah Tizzarouine overnight on the way to Ouarzazat. It is an authentic place in style. Moroccan decorations, lights and nice local food. We had a big group from Russia and the local management was very hospitable. We liked the food and entertainment with life music. One of the members of the group had a birthday and the chef prepared a huge lovely cake, enough for all 45 members of the group. It was a nice surprise for all of us. I really recommend the hotel. In the morning we realised the hotel has a great view on the valley.

Die Anlage ist eigentlich ganz nett und auch gut gelegen. Jedoch gibt es den üböichen Renovierungsstau. Kritisch ist aber das Personal, das weder von "Dienen" noch von "Leisten" je etwas gehört hat und sich für die landesübliche Lethargie entschieden hat. So ist der Fernseher auf dem Zimmer nicht einmal programmiert und das Bas ist das übliche Desaster. Das Essen ist ebenfalls ein Reinfall. Schade - man hätte hieraus durchaus etwas machen können.

Siamo stati una notte, abbiamo avuto una cena deliziosa! Le camere sono enormi, pulite e caratteristiche. Ho portato anche le mie due figlie di 13 e 16 anni ed anche loro erano entusiaste! Fuori c’è una bella piscina! Il Direttore Omar è una persona gentilissima e disponibile. Anche il ragazzo giovane assistente nella Sala Ristorante di cui non ricordo il nome è stato molto cordiale! Grazie allo staff!!

Gearriveerd in hotel Kasbah Tizzarouin, een groot complex aan de rand van het stadje Boumalne Dadès (ca. 12.000 inwoners, voornamelijk Berbers). Het hotel is gebouwd tegen een uitloper van het Atlasgebergte, met uitzicht op de Dadès Vallei, daarachter begint de Hoge Atlas. De vallei is dichtbegroeid en langgerekt. Kasbah Tizzarouin is zo te zien in de 70-er of 80-er jaren gebouwd, dus niet erg oud. Zwembad aanwezig, ook geschikt voor kinderen. De kamers bevinden zich op terrassen op twee of drie niveau's. Onze kamer is een soort imitatiegrot. Piepklein en met rijk gedecoreerd meubilair, in Berberstijl. Veel bling-bling, goudbeslag, imitatie halfedelstenen. Ruime badkamer, tenminste zo groot als de kamer zelf. Voor de kamer een terras met uitzicht op de vallei en het Atlas-gebergte. De badkamer is typisch Marokkaans, dwz alles hangt los, wc-pot schommelt, douchekop verkalkt .. zoals in de rest van Afrika heeft men weinig gevoel voor onderhoud. Gammel tuinmeubilair. Maaltijden "voedzaam maar eenvoudig". Ondanks de leeftijd van het hotel hangt hier ook al de sfeer van vergane glorie. Maar best prettig voor één of twee nachten. Betrekkelijk dicht bij het stadje, waar echter wenig te beleven is.

Hotel grande bien situado y con parking, habitaciones grandes, limpias y cómodas. El fallo de este hotel es el buffet, no tenia mucha calidad y ha sido la cena de hotel más cara que hemos pagado. Tiene una zona para disfrutar de las vistas. Personal correcto sin más.
