The Negatives 1. Refused breakfast: My booking clearly shows that a free breakfast is included. At check in, I asked where I had to go for breakfast, but was told I had booked room only. I was surprised and checked my confirmation, I went back with my booking confirmation, but she still refused to accept that my booking included breakfast. She said I had to pay an additional £12.50 per person for breakfast. See photo of my booking confirmation. She said I had booked a special offer which didn't include breakfast, I had to disagree as yes it was on offer at £110 but it clearly stated that breakfast was included, that's precisely why I had booked it. 2. Attitude! We had arrived early after a long car journey, so I asked if I could use a toilet before we returned at the appropriate time to check into our room. I wasn't allowed, she told me to find one in the main street, which fortunately wasn't far away. 3. The bathroom was not to the standard I would expect for such an expensive hotel, see photos of cracks in toilet and basin, damaged paintwork, dirty window blind etc. I don't mind that sanitary products can't be flushed down the toilet as we have a septic tank at home, but I do provide sanitary bags and a closing bin for my visitors, I expect the same in a hotel. 4. The radiator in the sitting area would not come on, it was definitely needed at this time of year as it was quite chilly in the room, and about -4 degrees outside. I accept she can't control the weather but she can control the heating! 5. At just after 11pm I received an email from the hotel with an invoice attached for a room only booking. It was as if she thought that by issuing this, my booking confirmation showing breakfast included, would somehow disappear! 6. ******* contacted the hotel on my behalf, asking them to refund £25 for the 2 breakfasts that they refused to give me, but she said no. 7. We could hear voices or TV from the room next door. The Positives: 1. Great location just off the main street. 2. Large comfortable bed

Fantastic location, great breakfast and comfortable rooms. Rooms are spacious and have two floors. Staff are super friendly and have a family vibe going which was super nice. Shame about the weather but overall if you need a place in the Cotswolds, look no further!

Good sleep but everything else was appalling. The room was tired and needed a good clean. The bathroom was pretty awful. Old and very dangerous shower, no hand rails, slippy bath, no temperature control. Toilet took 1 hour to refill. Basin too small to even wash your hands and the bathroom was dirty. Broken old doors. Breakfast over cooked and everything on the table was grubby. We stayed three nights but only had breakfast once.

Great location, nice staff, Breakfast very good but this is not a 4 star hotel, rooms very tired in need of updating and they have a damp smell about them, Bathroom also very small and also need updating. Other point Light Bulbs that have blown and not been changed, Door Handles hanging off, just a lack of care. Not worth what they are charging.

Let’s start by saying the breakfast is nice but very cramped and would advise booking a slot for breakfast they don’t tell you this when you book. The location is lovely Let’s start by saying this isn’t 4 star £180 a night for a junior suite then £10 on top for parking to be fair the parking fee is un necessary. The bathroom is awful the hot is eigher scolding hot or cold you can’t mix the temp properly the bathroom is worse than any basic travelodge I’ve stayed in. The tiles and decor are tatty the shower is pathetic. The room service is non existent no beds changed or towels replaced the beds and pillows are un comfortable. We you do make a complaint the management are not interested and blame you for leaving things on the bed this isn’t true in both the rooms we had. Please don’t waste your money here ! I’m 56 and have never written a bad review. This is miles away from 4 star or luxury I’m afraid

More of a B&B rather than a hotel A good breakfast but the room was very tired and the bathroom was tiny We had no cold water on the first night and therefore couldn’t flush the toilet Two radiators had had their thermostatic valve heads removed and they were hot which was not good as the weather was 25 degrees outside All in all not great value for money at £199 per night
