Trash!!! There was a glitch online, and my original intended booking with Wyndham Days Inn in Brea was somehow switched to Travel Lodge Brea. I arrived there and requested to transfer my paid booking to the Days Inn. However, the individual at the front desk made very unprofessional and inappropriate comments like (no hanky panky business here). This was unsolicited and extremely inappropriate. I informed the individual that the booking was a mistake and that my travel party wished to switch our booking to another Wyndham property. I was informed that no refunds are allowed, but I would have to contact the 3rd party app for assistance in cancelation. I then called the support number for help and was informed that the travel lodge does not give refunds. However, the customer service rep said that they would contact the property manager and confirm the request. I was still at the travel lodge property and asked the front desk if they could confirm the request for cancelation. They said that they would pass the message to the manager. Several hours later, I received an email that my request was denied.
This is trash, unprofessional, and extremely inconvenient because our travel party was not able to book another room at the last minute, and we were forced to stay in our vehicle for the evening until a vacancy became available at another hotel. Our experience with this specific TRAVEL LODGE was horrific. And to add to insult, they kept our money when we didn't even check in. They outright refused to refund our money so that we could transfer it to the original hotel. On July 19th, there were apparently a lot of glitches online that caused problems with online booking, and it appears that we were victims of this. It is sad and downright pathetic that individuals like the one at the front desk at the Travel Lodge in Brea, Calif, believe that it is appropriate in any culture, language, or region to make inappropriate, and irresponsible comments, as well as arbitrarily circumvent policy when they were politely asked to help and assist a patron who had encountered a problem with booking. Furthermore, as we left the property, a police cruiser arrived and followed us for several blocks as we left the property after receiving absolutely no assistance. This could have been random. However, it came across as capricious and extremely unsettling.
