Hotel Astoria Cervinia

Great location, lovely staff, excellent service. Located right next to one of the main lift stations feeding the whole of Cervinia and Zermatt. Can ski back to within 50 metres of hotel. Great breakfast, lovely terrace for apres-ski and evening drinks. Staff were excellent. My son fell ill during our stay and the staff went out of their way to look after him. They had to get up in the middle of the night, call a doctor, stay with him the whole time to translate, and ultimately call an ambulance to take him to hospital in Aosta. I was unable to go with him in the ambulance, and the staff offered to drive me there (an hour’s drive). Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Spent 6 nights here on a family of 4 skiing holiday in Jan 2023. Booked with Inghams. Due to snow sure resort could not have been happier with the skiing. The Plan Maison gondola/ lift system is a short walk uphill from the hotel. Can ski back to near the hotel on different red runs. Excellent boot rooms. Really splendid choice at breakfast time, self service buffet and unlimited Gaggia choice of coffees. The staff were welcoming and the rooms cleaned every morning to a very high standard. The only reason for the 4 stars was the evening meal which really was, mostly, bland and unappealing such that we opted to eat out.

Fabulous stay and will return. As a party of 8 we stayed at the Astoria from 27th December. It’s a great hotel. Bedrooms were really well set out, comfy bed, lots of hanging and storage space and a small bathroom with hot shower (one of our party had a bath). Our room had fab views of the Matterhorn. Great selection at breakfast - fruit, cereals, pastry’s and hot choice of eggs / bacon & toasty maker. Evening meal was a four course - with choices for pasta and main course made the previous evening. Vegetarian choice good too. We were there for New Year’s Eve - with 10 courses starting with buffet choice, fish course, pasta … it was fab. The hotel team are fantastic - they really couldn’t do enough for us, made us all feel welcome and provided a great service. Boot room is well set out with individual heated lockers for each room. We used the sauna and hot tub on the roof a few times. Really amazing sitting looking out over the slopes with the sun setting on the Matterhorn. The hotel is a few minutes walk to the main cable car station. And at the end of the day you can ski back down a red to the station, or red 13 brings you even close to the hotel - a bit narrower and steeper. The skiing was great - lots of snow and well maintained pistes. We booked area lift passes to cover Zermatt but the links were shut on a few days. If I was going again I’d definitely book a local pass and upgrade on the days the links are open. You can do this at the top of the first cable car - when you know the links are open. Great lunch stop is the restaurant by the Bontadini lift.

The hostel isn't the most modern I've stayed in, and it's not the prettiest but it's right next to the gondola station. The rooms look tired and dated. The lift buttons didnt work all the time. The walk down to the bottom of the Blue 5 chairlift is either via a steep road or treacherous steps. If you want to go up and down on the gondola, then it's a steep red back down from the top of Blue 5. The hotel food was ok. Evening meals consisted of courses for soup, salad, pasta, meat and desert. Plenty of food but not the most exciting. Staff were great, really helpful always jolly; they work so hard. Would I go back. No. Only because I'm in a wheelchair and the skiing nor the resort isn't wheelchair friendly.

Ideally located, just 50 metres from the main ski lifts to Plan Maison. This is a 3 star family run hotel attracting many different nationalities and is ideal for skiers and summer holiday makers. The food was excellent - good Italian cooking with plenty of choice and variety. For skiers there are excellent heated ski lockers in the basement. There is a rooftop sauna and hot tub but otherwise additional facilities are limited. But a friendly, family hotel that we would return to without hesitation next time we ski in Breuil-Cervinia.

Very friendly in a great location with good family friendly rooms, heated ski lockers and a good start to the day with a great breakfast. We stayed for one week and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Rooms are snug but well equipped, we had a family suite which was a good size for us and our 2 teenagers

Good food, great staff and a lot of atmosphere! Rooms are comfortable but maybe a bit outdated (I didn’t mind as it contributed to the atmosphere). Great location to hit the slopes! Just a small disadvantage; can’t park the car near the hotel, just a few hundred meters further. Will come back again for sure!!

A great hotel highly recommended. A short walk to the Plan Maison uplift and a short walk into town for apres ski. The hotel interior is very nicely decorated with a good size bar, a separate comfy lounge area, and a large restaurant. The staff were all lovely. The food was good, we didn't eat out as we were happy with the menus. This was not an expensive holiday and we thought the hotel was far higher standard than expected. We would go back

We were a party of family and friends and had a wonderful stay at the Astoria Hotel in Cervinia. The owner, Elide, was so kind to us, helping with absolutely everything from ski passes, to car park, to taxis to/from Valtournenche, to fantastic meals at the hotel. The entire team was just so wonderful to us. The location right next to the main gondola is absolutely perfect. As is the ski rental shop. During early-season, when the lower chairlifts might be closed, the main gondola is the fastest way to reach the mountain. I would definitely recommend staying at Astoria. It’s perfect!
